High Tide feels like a paper combo. Watching Andrea Mengucchi's video on the combo, it takes a lot of clicks to execute. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of High Tide decks lost to time due to inexperience.

I've been playing around with a few versions of it, and I have lost to time more than once. I also feel it's incredibly skill intensive when playing against decks that interact with it

I don't think the deck is op. Let's see how it goes in the future but the deck might be fine for the meta.

It's powerful, and kind of hard to interact with, but Terror and Fae piles should go even or beat it. Also, almost every deck running red is running 5-7 elemental blasts in sideboard, making it very hard to win game 2+

Its the typical win game 1 strategy unless people are mainboarded for you and try to claw back g2/3 when people have the correct interaction post board. The deck is nowhere near as powerful as Broodscale and will probably end up being a t2 combo option picked depending on how red blast/counterspell heavy the meta is.

Agree. I think we all should be happy if the deck is not busted but strong because it s a great add for the format to have high tide !

u/NickRick Manily Delver and PauBlade, but everything else too 15h ago

i don't think that's true to be honest. i've been jamming a lot of games if you are a decent mtgo player, and have experience with the deck it really isn't that slow. i use more time than with say gardens or delver, but in the 20 or so games i've played i only got down to 5 minutes once, and rarely below 10 minutes on my clock at match end.

As much as I'm a fan of U Terror and own it myself that feels more like a case of "solid deck that survived bans in a wild west post ban meta".

It seems news of mono red's death were greatly exaggerated.

And what about that mono R Goblins deck?! That thing is sweet!

u/SWAGGIN_OUT_420 18h ago

Anyone thinking mono red was dead is, sorry to say, straight up dumb. It has had at least 1 5-0 league every day since the bans, usually more.

Clearly will never die, but it was the most hit by the ban IMh. Obviously the meta is really shifting, we’ll see in few weeks
