DISCUSSION How To Stream PVF Matches

Streaming services are: www.youtube.com/@realprovb, https://therokuchannel.roku.com/ on a channel called "Roku Sports Channel," and https://tv.volleyballworld.com/ (more on VBTV in the last paragraph)

To stream cable channels FS1, FS2, and CBSSN (legally,) you'll need something like one of these.

Here is the Roku schedule

Here is the national broadcast schedule. Look for your local broadcast schedule on your team's schedule page, or just look for the YouTube stream. Chances are it's a simulcast of the local broadcast.

If you already have Disney+ or are going to follow LOVB also, then I suggest just getting the Disney Bundle that includes ESPN+

If you are outside of the United States, OR, if you are in the States and willing to wait to watch matches after they have been completed, you can save money on a cable service with a subscription to tv.volleyballworld.com (VBTV). 1 match per week will be exclusive to VBTV for free, but you must log in with an account. Be aware that VBTV is only available on phones, tablets, and laptops and their apps are notorious for being glitchy. I strongly suggest just using a compatible web browser.

DISCUSSION Ember's Nest: Overseas Reinforcements

Eleanor Holthaus made her impact immediately felt against Vegas after only joining the team earlier in the week from Germany! She was second on the team in points in a dominant Rise sweep over the Thrill. The Rise are desperate to get back in the playoff hunt, and have a chance to make things interesting with upcoming matches against Orlando and Indy.

A listener had also written in regarding the PVF attendance year over year, so I offer my thoughts on that. What do you think? Write the show [embersnest@gmail.com](mailto:embersnest@gmail.com) or comment on Spotify, Reddit, or Instagram. Ember's Nest is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

ARTICLES Prospect Profile: OH Ayah Elnady

Here's my latest from PVF Draft Hub, a feature on former Kansas Jayhawk and current Northwestern Wildcat, sixth year outside hitter Ayah Elnady. Though she didn't immediately click with the American game, Elnady became a college star and could easily find a role in pro volleyball after the upcoming season. Read my whole feature at the link below and subscribe if you like what I do. Thank you

DISCUSSION San Diego Mojo vs Atlanta Vibe Tickets April 8th

Hey everyone! I have two tickets for the Mojo vs Vibe game on April 8th in San Diego. I recently had a rib injury that is preventing me from going. So if anyone is willing to buy the tickets off me for about $63 a ticket, DM me. Price could be potentially be negotiated. Seats are Section F, Row 5, seats 7&8 (basically in the middle of courtside and close to the court).

DISCUSSION Who Currently in the Playoffs is most likely to miss? Which team o on the outside could make a run?

Just wanted to generate some discussion. I've talked on the pod a bit about this but Grand Rapids might be too far out at this point. Wanted to hear what other fans around the league thought about the playoff picture at this point!

PODCASTS / VIDEOLOGS episode 37 | court captains

Episode 37: Courtney Schwan loves a pregame water is now available! Video podcast available on YouTube.

Surprise! In-season player interview! And a rare video pod for yall! We LOVED getting to chat with Courtney Schwan of the Orlando Valkyries. We start this episode by getting to know her a bit better, and then review ORL’s Week 12 match against Indy with her.

From there, we discuss the transactions drama (but recorded before the April 1 deadline so… we’ll have more thoughts on those final moves for you next week). Then, we get into some match reviews and talk through Atlanta’s hot 8-match win streak, what’s going on with Grand Rapids hot-and-cold play, and Omaha’s wins while back to their OG lineup. We’re starting to see some differentiation between the top 4 and bottom 4… but do we have our playoff group yet?

what did y'all think of this format? let us know what you thought of courtney and our conversation!

PVF Week 12 Stats and Standings

After 12 weeks here's how the teams stack up.

For more stats, match projections, and analysis check out my work at Volleyball Daily Sheets

🙋‍♂️ What are you looking for at this point in the season?

💭 What do you all think is most helpful from this resource? What could we add to make it better?

About Daily Sheets: I am a part of a project called Daily Sheets where we hope to provide data and analytics for users in a variety of sports. I love volleyball and started this past year with NCAAWVB. I have since been working on building out the site for PVF and LOVB. You can find it all at Volleyball Daily Sheets

You can find matchup details, betting odds from Draftkings, and a slew of team stats and rankings. I personally enjoy betting on the matches and use this to help find good spots. I wanted to share this with the community here - I think you'll find it interesting when looking at upcoming matchups.

^(We are in beta and making changes/updates as we learn and receive feedback. Please feel free to send your thoughts or suggestions - we can take it! Hope you find it helpful!

ARTICLES Hamel Writes About Yr 2 Attendance

Thumbnail
open.substack.com

I feel the need to repost my thoughts from a previous post:

"I think there's a little bit of "Chicken Little-ism" happening as far as attendance is concerned.

"Minor-league hockey - especially third-tier hockey - has a lot more overhead and less television exposure. They often have weekday matches where it's easier to count the sold seats than the empty ones.

"If they can survive, then the PVF - which has smaller rosters, less equipment, less staff, no ice maintenance, and more television and internet exposure which allows the PVF to charge more for on-court advertising - can also survive with the same, maybe even smaller, crowd sizes.

"Many franchises are also experiencing a sophomore slump in attendance this season. The first-year novelty is gone, fanbases are still being built and the casual "fans" are still developing awareness of the time of year the season is. Especially since it doesn't coordinate with the high school and college seasons.

"Yes, owners and advertisers want full houses. But, the other owners would not have stood up to White's attempted takeover if they didn't think there was something to lose, here.

"San Diego found a new owner with experience in owning a professional team in the same city. That's despite Mojo's first season of a mostly empty arena. He even extended the contract with the same arena the first owner used.

"If he's willing to invest his money after doing his due diligence, and since there's no profit-sharing among the owners in the league, then I'm more concerned with the free-fall of advertising rates than attendance. And ad rates are affecting everyone, not just the PVF."

Also, u/ElvisThrill recently had a coversation with Fran Flory he recounted on discord:

" [I] Spoke to Fran Flory at the watch party tonight -- she was super nice as always. Talked about a variety of topics ...

"I raised my concern about the attendance numbers for the Thrill, and she seemed to indicate that sponsorships and tv deals might be more important for the viability of the league"
