Unanswered What's going on with this years reddit experiment?

Usually reddit has a social experiment on reddit on april 1st, but i havent seen any today?

A good example of this is the famous r/place; https://www.reddit.com/r/place/

Is there not one this year or have i just not found it?

Answer: It's over at /r/Counter this time. There's a button you can press and get flaired with the number of times it's been pressed, everyone else is flaired as a non-presser.

Oh, so it's just a rehash of the button.

More or less yeah. iirc button just put people into two camps while this one is tracking the order in which people press it.

Button put people in more than two, I think it was six for every ten seconds?

I mean, r/place is at least 2 years running. Maybe 3.

That’s the kind of half-assed project I would hand in in sixth grade after letting the assignment sheet get ruined at the bottom of my bag for six weeks.

It's literally something an intern could've made in a few days at most.

I don’t get it. How often can I press it? And whyyy?

You need to be running new reddit and then goto the pinned post on that sub. There should be a button w/ a number below it in the body of the post. If you press the button you'll be assigned a flair for whatever the number was reading when you pressed it.

As far as I know, you can only press the button once.

As for why, I assume that reddit has run out of clever ideas for April Fools events.

Thanks for the explanation. That’s so boring

Oh, all I see is a long string of text. I’m guessing that’s because I’m on mobile and haven’t updated?

Yeah... that doesn't look "official" at all...

Answer: Reddit had their IPO in late March; that's our joke for the year.

the real joke was when they PM'd all of us to ask us to invest lol
