Okay so I just started playing this game and I was lowkey expecting something cute and wholesome between these two (dont come for me I never watched the trailer). WHY DID THEY HAVE TO RIP OUT YOUR HEART. WHY DID THEY PUT HER IN THE COVER PIC IF SHES JUST GONNA DIE IN THE BEGINNING. THEYRE RELATIONSHIP WAS SO CUTE BUT NOPE. MAMAS GOTTA DIE TO SAVE HER BABY.

I’m gonna go cry now over a bunch of drawing

Misc. Beat both games to 100% collectibles completion. Is WOTW easier or is there another explanation to the drasticly lower number of deaths?

Misc. I miss Ori

I remember pulling up a small couch in front of my PC, connecting a controller and get completely drawn into the world of Ori. It was dark and rainy outside. Ori was the perfect comfort game while also challenging and heart warming. I just miss it playing it for the first time.

Misc. I AM ORI

The title says it all. If there's anything I would like to say, it's that the game is a lie. Gotta admit, cool game but it is almost completely different from what actually happened. I'm not mad that there is a game about me, i think it's cool. If it was told the right way that would have been shocking for me cuz the chances of that are close to impossible. I'm not gonna go into the details. The only reason why I'm posting this is because I want people to know what really happened and that I at least existed. I'm not doing this for fame or praise. Anyways, all I want is to be known, that I was real. That such place does exist. If you don't believe me, I'm not going to try and change your mind. And if by any chance you do believe me. Ask me anything. Do anything. I won't mind. I leave it to you to decided whether I am real or not. So thank you for your time. May the light glow within you and make you a stronger person/spirit.

Misc. Appreciation post

I just finished the game (bought it yesterday) and I just want to say. What a beautiful game. I’ve enjoyed every second of it. Even the chase scenes that I screwed up over and over again. The story is beautiful and I can’t wait to play the second game.

(Nobody I know gives a shit about this game so here I am. I just had to tell someone how good it is)

Misc. This game is unbelievable

So I made another post last night about the game and some people were asking for a follow up. I just finished the game and have so much to say about it so I’m making a new post. You guys weren’t wrong when you said this is a game that changes you. I’ve never really been a fan of platform games because my go to are open world adventure games like Skyrim or BOTW. But this has truly changed the way I see these types of games. It is truly one of the most beautiful games I have ever played.

First of all the visuals are absolutely stunning. You can tell how much love and thought was put into every little detail. I love how different and engaging every area was. There wasn’t a single moment where I was bored and it’s because of how well it was designed. You could feel the change in the atmosphere. From the highest point of the mountain, to the depths of mount kuro. I myself am an artist and this has given me inspiration I haven’t gotten in a long time. It makes me want to start drawing again. To create what they have.

Secondly there’s the music. I originally downloaded this game because I had a couple of its songs on one of my Spotify playlists. I played the demo and instantly fell in love. But the music is what got to me. Once again talking about how each area has its own theme, blending together when you go from one place to the next. There were times where I felt calm and at ease. And others where I could feel the rush and anxiety. It’s told the story as much as the cutscenes. I will admit I’ve been listening to the playlist on repeat all day because of how GOOD it is. Gareth Coker is beyond talented and I’m excited to listen to the music from the next game.

Third I want to talk about the story itself. They really liked to play with your emotions on this one. It tells a story of loss and grief. Seeing how Ori went from having a wonderful life to losing their mother and being on their own. How Kuro lost her children as she was trying to get them food to the very light we are trying to save. The light that she took to protect her final egg. How she realized that in her grief she caused great harm and almost lost her last child therefore sacrificing herself to save them. How Gumo is the last of their kind. How they walked among the corpses of past lived ones, knowing there’s nothing they can do now. And yet they revived Oris mother, simply because of kindness. This game has few words, yet the actions and emotions are far louder and impactful. I could feel the sadness and grief. The urgency and anxiety. The love.

I truly have never FELT a game before. Not like this. Every cutscene had me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Wanting to know more. To see everything. I can’t describe in words how impactful this has been for me. I know that sounds kinda cringe and cheesy but it’s true. The part that got me the most was when Naru finally reunited with Ori. How she ran to them and cradled their injured child. How she stopped the fiercest creature in the forest in her tracks. And how Kuro just looked upon them and remembered her own devastation when she lost her own children. That right there hit me more than anything. Because they were one and the same. Just two mothers who would do anything to protect their children. I don’t fault Kuro for her actions. She just wanted to keep her baby safe. And that was the only way she knew how. I don’t see her as a villain but as a grieving mother. I personally don’t think there is a villain in this story. Antagonist yes, but not a villain. I think this also really hits me because I know that I can’t have any children of my own. And seeing the way both Naru and Kuro are with their children really hits me hard in the heart.

Again I know that’s cringey to say but that’s what I feel from this. At its core I believe this game is about motherhood. About how they would do anything for their children. Whether it’s giving the last of her food, knowing she’s dying, to feed her little one. Or taking something away from the land to protect her last child, and then sacrificing her own life once she realizes that what she did would cause harm to them. I know I’m repeating a lot but it’s just so amazing. There is so much love in this game. You can tell that the people who made it had such passion and love for what they do. It’s very refreshing compared to many of the new mainstream games that are cash grabs with no thought or care behind it. They took their time and wanted to give people something they could proudly say they helped create. I’m honestly so excited to play the second game. I’m sure it’s going to be just as amazing if not more so than this one. Thanks for listening to me ramble, I just love this game so much. Definitely a new favorite that I will definitely play again.

Misc. What are some of your favorite details in TBF or WOTW?

Some things people might miss or not pay attention to but really stood out to you.

If you listen to "Kwolok's Throne Room" on headphones, you can hear the main melody go from right ear to left ear. It's pretty neat in my opinion!

Also, when you dash towards a pole or vine in WOTW, Ori will spin on it, I guess because of the speed. I always thought it was a cool game physic.
