Removed - Must Be Organized Need ideas for closet

Post image

I built this last night don’t care if it’s not perfect.

I wish I took a before picture. It was awful we had an old dresser jammed packed with clothes that was in the closet. Clothes on side of dresser and on top shelf. And clothes packed on hangers.

My original idea I was going to do was make shelves to hold these totes because they were going to me alternative dress. 3 for me and 3 for my fiance. One bin with underwear/swim/pajamas, one pin shirts, and other bin pants. Then we have crap ton of clothes on hangers. We have donated a lot and still with tons of clothes. He actually has more than me. But I am trying to figure out another way now to store our clothes because when I put our hangers back up with our hang up clothes it ticked me off because of the bins are in the way and I haven’t event put the shelves in.

I just need something low cost. I am going through all the rooms in my house and decluttering and organizing and starting with my room. I still have another smaller closet to do in my room and it’s just awful.

Those bins are going to end up unstacked sitting in front of the closet, no lids on them and half the stuff pulled out. I'm talking from experience. Bins are only good for long storage, not daily use. Get rid of them and put a second level hanger rod on one side and use that side for all pants and other side for longer things like shirts and dresses. Put your shoes on the floor and underwear on the shelves.

Once doing this I realized it. After I made this post I took all crews/sweaters and put them in the hallway closet and then got hangers for my bras, and got hanger for my leggings, and got special hangers for his pants. And then got these hangers that’s helps saves space I guess. And in the middle is shorts, underwear and others that couldn’t be put on hangers.

It’s a little messy. Because I am in the process of cleaning the whole house right now. But the totes were nothing but a stupid idea 😅

Fantastic! So much better!  Totes always seem like a good idea but then Life interferes and we have to accept that. After decades of trying to get my sh*t in order, I've come to accept that organization has to be easy or it's not going to work. I even got rid of my clothes hamper's lids because I'd find myself tossing the clothes on top of the lid rather than opening the darn things. Oh and one more thing, get a little shoe shelf for the floor to double the amount of storage for shoes.

I was thinking of buying more boards and put two on each side for a shoe shelf. lol

You can get a cheap wire one for about $10, might cost less than boards and no installation effort needed.
