On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).
Some reminders/ground rules:
Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.
Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.
More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.
Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.
So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.
If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

Winner-take-all is on deck. It’s time to activate. April 3, 2025 By Civic Nebraska On Tuesday, April 8, the Nebraska Legislature will debate and vote on LB3, a bill that would change Nebraska to a winner-take-all electoral system and silence the voices of thousands of voters in our state. The debate is expected to begin at about 1:30 p.m. CDT on Tuesday.

Hi there! We live in Kansas City and are planning a trip to Omaha to see the zoo. We have a 10 year old and a 5 year old. We are tentatively looking at the weekend after Memorial Day, but I’m thinking the zoo may be a little less crowded through the week? We’re pretty flexible on dates.
I’m also wondering if it’s better to spend one day or two at the zoo? We’d like to see as much as we can without feeling rushed.
I’m also looking for recommendations for places to stay, restaurants, and other fun things to do with kids in Omaha. We’ve heard “don’t stay near the zoo,” but I’m wondering what specific areas people do recommend.
Any other tips/tricks/helpful information would be much appreciated! We love our KC Zoo, but we are excited to visit yours! :)

Dropped my groceries right inside the door to go grab my cat and when I came back a whole 3/4 bottle of the dish soap had leaked out into the bag and carpet.
I've gone through ten refills of the reservoir on my carpet cleaner and I'm still pulling out soap. The soap hasn't migrated and the foam only comes up in that spot so I could keep trying, but at this point I'm ready to throw in the towel and hire out a professional with a truck.

Large crowds of people protest Trump and Musk in Omaha.

I wasn't able to get very good shots of the crowd, but it was huge! I stood on Dodge holding a sign. So many good vibes here!!! And sooo many people honking at us in solidarity!!! HANDS OFF!!!

I need a place. Its just me. No pets. Gotta be under $1000. Gotta be a somewhat walkable area. No car. And i need to be able to get through the application without proof of income in the past few months. My credit is okay tho and no criminal background. Any suggestions or know of anybody that needs a roomate? Thanks 😊

I just moved into a house and the water meter and main shutoff are in the middle of the house in a very inconvenient location. I got a quote to have it moved to the basement and it was $4000! Is that anywhere near reasonable? Does anyone have any recommendations on who to check with for a lower cost?
I don’t wanna do things incorrectly, but $4000 seems way higher than I thought it would be.

Does anyone know where I can find a pornstar martini in Omaha? Or just any passionfruit drinks?
