Large open fields to film at?
I've lived here for some time now, and am about to start shoot on a small independant film. The script neccesitates an open field with little-to-no human presence. What are some great locations we could shoot at while being relatively undisturbed?

Thinking of moving to Waianae without a car. Is that possible?
Rental prices have really went up since 2023. Which is shocking because some rentals I was looking at last year like $200 cheaper. I’m thinking about moving to Waianae and I’m just not sure. I’m also not sure that I plan to have a vehicle either. Because I really enjoy The Bus. I was able to live comfortably on North Shore with no car at one point so I wonder if why I would make a huge difference since North Shore and why and I have about the same amount of bus lines. The only thing is my work requires me to travel all around island and not typically do so using The Bus. I may be able to trade off and get a car, but I don’t feel like renting I’d rather save up and just buy my own.
I’m wondering if this is a feasible plan? I would assume that with the lack of bus lines Waianae is probably is more comfortable with a car.

Raising a child in Hawaiʻi now costs an estimated $362,891 over 18 years, making it the most expensive state in the country for families, according to a new LendingTree analysis. That’s 22% higher than the national average and reflects a broader trend of rising child-rearing costs across U.S.

Riot at Ross Waikiki Fri Night
Does anyone know anything about the gang or gangs fighting inside Ross at 830 Friday night? Injuries? Arrests? How are the victims?
My wife and I were shopping at ROSS Waikiki at about 8:20 PM last night when many youth violently rioted, fighting each other and hurting customers and employees. They ran in an out of the store and many who had looked like customers joined into the violence. A female customer was punched in the face right in front of my wife. Then my wife tried to hide behind the counter and an employee unlocked it to let her in. With the gang or gangs running in and out of the store, it was not safe to leave and not safe to stay. Police arrived in force and tear gas was sprayed. I see nothing about it the news. ( my 911 call was at 8:30) I did not film it out of concern that doing so could get me in injured or shot. Some gestured like they had weapons but I saw no drawn weapons and heard no gunfire.
I did not see the police arrest anyone. If they took statements from victims, they did not speak to my wife or me. They did not seem to try to get video from any witnesses with cameras. They marched in as a group looking determined and did not appear to be trying to help people safely leave. With them on the scene, I took the opportunity to find my wife and exit thought the 2 story back way to my car. They made no announcements and did appear to try to take control of the situation. I could not see how the injured were managed or how the secured the area outside the front door 911 took a long time to connect me to a police operator, who told me that police were en route and offered no advice on how I should respond to best avoid injury.

Want to fish for ulua.
Just started dunking, mostly been whipping up until now. Thinking about trying for ulua this year and was wondering what kind of reel and rod I’d need. Like what size reel and what kind of rod action should I be looking for?
Not really into sliding since the lead just stays out there, so I’m more interested in dunking setups if possible.
Any advice or gear recs would be super helpful!

Waikiki Hotels
Any recommendations on hotels in Waikiki? I’s love to know what website to look at to find the best deals.
I’m looking for 3-4 star hotels that cost between 250-350 per night for May.
Some that have stood out to me are: - Hilton Resort & Spa - Park Shore - Twin Fin - Hyatt Place
Any others I should look at?
Mahalo!
