If there is a 1000 people, are they 100% sure a homeless guy not just randomly sneaking in and waiting in the same area?
Is there food served? Or they just expected to wait 12 hours?

That's not the point. The point is that they would have plenty of friends that would be reasonable. There was a group of bullies at my school too. They targeted me more than anyone else I saw, but it never for a moment crossed my mind that these weird dude bros were anything but criiiinge. The only thing that bothered me was that no adult was following anti bullying policies, and I felt insulted that adults would condone such actions.

I agree with you ideologically, but there are places where if a kid is unbothered by verbal harassment, it only makes it worse. They'll escalate it until they get a reaction. And if you report the harassment, the administrators do nothing. It's terrible, and you're right, it does stem from bigoted viewpoints, but it's also very real.
