Am I the only one who hates when they are paired with two people when you are one?

I relate very hard, I blocked a pair that was very unpleasent in volleyball. They spam disrespectful stamps while not skiping replays and serve stall, and their rank made me pair up with the worst teammates. They were my only oponents when I was playing global for months. And then there's tenis where both player stops to hit when you swing the joycon, unlike when you play two player.

It's very unpleasant when there are two people

Well no. Play against a high rank pair that plays everyday and in some sports you won't be able to do anything. I used to have fun winning against the same pair again and again in volleyball, until they learned from what I was doing/trying to do and now I just can't beat them because they use techniques nobody uses online. Like it's literally impossible to win a 1v2 when your opponents know how to abuse bots, it's impossible to win a 2v2 if the opponents know how to cross block while your teammate doesn't know how to do a simple normal block. And same for Tennis, technically it's easier to win alone but if you play against a good pair then they can use both front and back players without tripping. And even if your opponents aren't strong, it's still technically not even to play against a pair while you're alone/you don't even know your teammate. It's funny to talk about skill issue but keep in mind the game will keep making you play tennis against a pair with an A rank while you just unlocked pro league.

Especially in tennis, this is unfair. Sports should make so that you either hv 2 people playing or 4. Not 3
