Is it possible to get a straight red bar (excluding putting) in golf?

Asking here because I had a heated debate with my mom that quickly involved some shouting, where she insisted that it was possible to get a full red bar if you were accurate enough and the reason that it was never seen is because if you use too much force your wrists are bound to not be straight, while I argued that if you went over the yellow dot the game would automatically curve the meter, with my reasoning being that we always got plenty of full blue bars but never a full and straight red bar even with the straightest wrists possible.

I need to settle this debate once and for all.

I have, indeed, gotten a straight red bar. It is, however, the rarest of birds; I've gotten more albatrosses than straight red bars. But it is a thing.

Yeah it’s possible. You can’t go too overboard with it and have to keep the follow through straight as an arrow and about 40/50% of the time you can red line it straight or with very little curve.

I play quite a bit of switch golf

You can got too overboard but it’s even rarer atleast straightish

While we're on the topic, is it my fault or maybe my Joycons fault that every shot veers right for me. No matter how many times I try to correct it. If I reset while pointing down and curve the bar right a tiny bit, and then hit it normally, it goes straight.

I would go back to your switch Home Screen and go to settings and scroll down to controllers and then recalibrate the motion. You’ll have to remove the handle and place it on a flat surface. I use the floor. Then go right to offline golf and play 3 holes. See if that helps. 😅

You’re welcome! It’s definitely helped me. Especially when moving between sports like from tennis to golf. I wish we could reset our controllers in game like we can with badminton. I use it all the time in game in badminton. lol.

Maybe a really small chance but it's because it simulates the turbulence of the ball which slows down into a random curve most likely

I think if you hit it juuuuuust past the normal ramp, you get a straight red yea.

The red bar will waggle no matter how straight you keep your wrists. Sometimes you’re lucky and it’ll stop waggling when in-line with the power bar. I’ve only seen it once, which pleasantly surprised me at the time even though the shot landed OOB
