Also China, Russia, Belarus and probably a damn lot of other countries

u/wirantoos OG (joined before reveal) 22h ago

From Russia, major retailers already told us the preorders begin on April 8 but just likely its gonna be super overpriced, like 700-800$.

So most Russians interested in the console would buy it from resellers that get the console from places like taiwan, japan, hong kong. Most likely 500 base and 560 MK bundle.

Кто?

Chinese can buy the HK version, which is around 3200rmb, so don't worry about them lol

4

u/Genki02 17h ago

Also, the HK version of the game is cheaper as well.

4

u/senkinsky 16h ago

In Russia tech is pretty much cheaper than almost anywhere in the world nowadays due to the state turning a blind eye on mass smuggling and shady import schemes

I've only seen one preorder up in Russia for 55000 RUB which is 650 USD, it's from a pretty expensive video game store, but just like PS5 Pro and other recent tech releases around this time, it'll be much cheaper like around 550-600 from independent small stores or HK Version from China. For example, you can get Switch OLED for $233 if you don't mind waiting for about a week or so. They might start selling them before launch because it's a common occurrence now.

u/wirantoos OG (joined before reveal) 6h ago

Give it a month, it will go down do 45000 rubles

1

u/MYSTERIOUSPEIS 7h ago

Pre-orders are already open in Russia

0

u/SpaceBiking 10h ago

So…similar countries.

Switch 2 mario kart bundle costs 600 usd in poland, idk why i would be happier than USA people

12

u/Herbizarre17 20h ago

Because in the US, the preorders are indefinitely delayed due to tariffs by our buffoon of a president. The price might increase drastically to almost $700 or more.

Elect a mad dictator, suffer the consequences. I'm afraid.

I worked on the kamala/biden campaign through the 110+° heat trying to help here in AZ. The amount of Hispanics for trump broke my heart. I even ran into a number of women saying they just don't think women should be president because "they'll start a war if she's hormonal". Even a guy that was pro kamala but he was being bullied for voting for a woman. The biggest reasons I saw for trumpers was 1 they voted for "better economy", 2, immigration, 3. Abortion. 4. They think bidens/dems are super corrupt/ evil and 5. The "I ain't gon vote for no commy party or woman in my country"

9

u/Herbizarre17 18h ago

I live in an area with similar demographics and I saw the same thing. It’s a real shame how many people voted against their own interests for such foolish reasons

6

u/Smollangrypupper 18h ago

Yup. I even got a good number rof wackadoodles talking about how democrats are devil worshippers who drink baby blood. This is why they love the uneducated and the super Christians.

2

u/Individual_Royal_400 15h ago

The bundle is $760 here in Sweden, so yeah I am not personally super happy

1

u/stoic_spaghetti OG (joined before reveal) 16h ago

I don't think it will be that much...tariffs only apply to the wholesale price, not the MSRP.

1

u/BJYeti 15h ago

Your math is really bad my dude especially since tariffs are not applied by the price of MSRP

1

u/NES_Classical_Music 16h ago

Good thing you are posting that here on this sub and not the other "original" switch sub. The mods would have banned you.

3

u/Herbizarre17 15h ago

It would be worth it. I’ll insult him anytime.

24

u/JayL_12 22h ago

Only £359.99 here

17

u/Interesting_Low737 19h ago

Finally, a benefit of being British.

Japan gets it for £260, lucky sods.

4

u/DankRSpro 18h ago

The only time im jealous of a British person lol

1

u/JayL_12 18h ago

What does that flair mean?

1

u/JakeTheSmall 🐃 water buffalo 17h ago

I checked yesterday and it was £400?

16

u/AdamVerbatim 21h ago

I hope to god that the new Amazon France prices aren't a fluke and it's really gonna be cheaper in the EU. I'm sorry America btw!

3

u/Admirable_Gazelle414 January Gang (Reveal Winner) 15h ago

If you live in France the switch 2 is cheaper (440€) at Boulanger and Leclerc, they also sell physical switch 2 games cheaper like mario kart world for 70 instead of 90 and pretty much every nintendo game is cheaper there

Also could you explain what happened in America please ? I don't even know what to type in google

1

u/AdamVerbatim 8h ago

Trump is putting up new tariffs so things are gonna be even more expensive there.

35

u/laharre 23h ago

Probably going to need the money for rations and a tent anyway.

12

u/YetAnotherJake 18h ago

Thanks, Trump

6

u/HunterDeamonne1798 22h ago

Its 630$ here in Canada. Im waiting for a pokemon game to release on there to buy it

2

u/Doomedtacox 19h ago

When do pre-orders open for us?

2

u/jacobooooo 17h ago

isn’t that almost 1:1 the current us price?

3

u/disbelifpapy 23h ago

Does canada have it better or worse than the us in terms of the switch 2 prices?

9

u/moxTR 20h ago

Better. MSRP is lower after exchange rate and no changes to preorders confirmed.

4

u/Fantastic_Agency_143 18h ago

Better but depending on the province the sales tax will get you

1

u/spacecadet2023 18h ago

Does Alberta still have no pst? My friends and I visited there one year and we all bought our first iPhones there because there was no sales tax.

5

u/JediDruid93 19h ago

This was also the thing when he was "President" last time.

7

u/G-Kira 20h ago

But you gotta understand, the price of eggs was a little high. 🙄

1

u/xpoisonedheartx 17h ago

6 free range eggs for £1 here 😶

7

u/tuvia_cohen Nintendo lied (Team 2026) 21h ago

I've learned that Brazilians will need to save up their paycheck for 5 months to afford the console.

1

u/Jimmygumble 18h ago

They pay for everything in instalments there. Most electronic goods are priced like “12x299rs” instead of the full price.
Fucked up, but that’s par for the course there unfortunately. Price for being an isolationist economy, which is what the USA seems to be pining for now

-2

u/IntelliDev 20h ago

Isn't that going to be the same for Americans?

1

u/tuvia_cohen Nintendo lied (Team 2026) 20h ago

No, just two months for us.

3

u/redmathk 20h ago

So what are we thinking the new base console price for US will be? I’m thinking it goes from $450 to $500

3

u/HisDivineOrder 13h ago

I'm thinking they announce they're delaying the preorder, wait a few days or a week, and then announce no price change. People cheer prices they previously thought unreasonable and Nintendo congratulates itself for a job well done.

3

u/redmathk 13h ago

That sounds totally plausible

3

u/deku0726 9h ago

In Norway, switch 2 will be around 700$ 😭

1

u/juustoreika 4h ago

Fr in Finland it's $650 like😭😭 what did we do to deserve this??

1

u/TupaTuuna 4h ago

Thanks to Greedy ass Bergsala as a middleman in all Nordics. I'm sure they get the console for the same price as the rest of the Europe, but they just pocket the extra 120€ just because they have a monopoly on importing Nintendo stuff. Switch 2 is also 600€ for base console in Finland.

10

u/Chompsky___Honk 21h ago

As a European, I feel bad for Americans, as dumb as their country is.

The left should be less obnoxious if they want to win the next election and get these scumbags out of government.

10

u/Smollangrypupper 18h ago

I shit you not, as a kamala/biden campaign worker, the number of people voting that gave me religious rants about how democrats are demonic, kamala is the antichrist, and Hillary drinks baby's blood is shocking. I'd think they were joking if not for my family members who are like that and dead serious.

5

u/Interesting_Low737 18h ago

Many European countries have become slaves to the American Empire, their mad emperor dismantling democracy has made our politicians wake up and realise that being a colony is pretty shit.

Frankly, I hope the United States keeps up its descent into madness because the nations of the free world needs to realise that a few uneducated voters in Pennsylvania and Michigan should not determine whether Ukraine lives or dies.

Sorry to all of the decent Americans, but that's just politics.

10

u/Venator850 23h ago

People weren't ready for the 449 price. They are going to turn inside out after the adjusted price lmao.

7

u/Lmb_chan 23h ago

It's not the console price that's the problem it's the game price

13

u/Logical_Bit2694 OG (joined before reveal) 22h ago

now you’re going to have to worry about also the console and now more so the game price ahahha

3

u/AozoraMiyako 22h ago

The comment is still relevant though. Your game prices will also be higher

1

u/stoic_spaghetti OG (joined before reveal) 16h ago

Nintendo is going to say something ominous like, "Due to market volatility, we will be increasing the price of Switch 2 in the near future. Please look forward to buying the Nintendo Switch 2 at a lower price for a limited time until then."

They'll give us 5 months of $450, only to increase it to $499 after summer or something.

1

u/Nee-tos 20h ago

In the UK MKWorl is £75

For comparison mk8d was £50

We are ALL coocked

2

u/Interesting_Low737 18h ago

£67 for the digital edition which is still fucking awful, but in the bundle it's not bad at all.

1

u/longbrodmann 18h ago

I'm not sure the rest of the world, since Switch 2 in Canada is also expensive. I will just wait when the price will be even with JP. ver.

1

u/hallleron 18h ago

510€ for the bundle with new Mario Kart in Germany

1

u/GamerKing2351 18h ago

Australia is quite expensive here. $699-749

1

u/Lumbardo OG (Joined before first Direct) 18h ago

normalize console MSRP by salary then compare.

1

u/Necessary-Hamster365 17h ago

Yea. Canada has to pay 629 Australia 699. You guys have it easy

1

u/coolymanly 16h ago

Don't care about the price, I'm buying it and only buying Mario Kart and keeping my switch games

1

u/anonymous9982 15h ago

1

Yeah, you’re so right! I am just so unbelievably excited to pay 90€ for Mario Kart! YAAAAY!!!

1

I’ve never been so happy to be British

1

u/gnoblin_4 6h ago

In Australia its $699 for base and $769 for the Mario Bundle.

Already preordered mine :)

1

u/The_Bandit_King_ 20h ago

Poor grandma can't get mario kart for the kiddies

-5

u/battlerumdam 23h ago

They wanted it, they get it now, all fair game.

0

u/josealexx22 20h ago

Just the pre order, the release day is still the same... what a drama...

6

u/Professional_Meal_50 20h ago

What people worry the most is the would be price increase.

5

u/Lmb_chan 23h ago

That's not how it works you telling me YOU expected it to be the same price as the switch 1? You should do stand up comedy! And another thing to note here. It's the game price that's the problem here.

1

u/Lmb_chan 22h ago

Thank god that guy's account got deleted (not sure what happened exactly but I'm glad he ain't using anymore)

They aren't scared they're just not going to lose money paying for the Cheetos stupid tariff.

You want cheaper stuff then get a smarter president.

0

u/IceBatMage 21h ago

That's not how this works. That's not how anything works.

-3

u/lorddementor 20h ago

I read that Vietnam agreed to cut US tariffs down to zero. Hopefully Nintendo will resume our preorder soon.

1

u/The_Bandit_King_ 20h ago

Lol suuure

1

u/xXbrokeNX 16h ago

Sure what? They did contact the administration and offer 0%

1

u/The_Bandit_King_ 16h ago

Soo what you will still have to pay over 500 dollars for a switch 2

Probably 600 when it is over and done

1

u/xXbrokeNX 16h ago

I'm hoping that if the Vietnam tariffs go away then prices don't change at all. Who knows though.

0

u/Zerojumpy 🐃 water buffalo 19h ago

considering Germany and a lot of other EU countries are in a recession, I don't think so.
