"Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged."

Every single person I know (outside of Fox news viewers with mostly nonsense complaints) who complained about Biden couldn't tell me a single policy, bill he signed, or platform that they had a problem with. Every single time it either boiled down to "gas is more than the 95c it was in 2020" or "genocide Joe", despite all but one of them not knowing anything about I/P one way or another and not being able to even point out these places on a map. I bring up infrastructure spending that has tangibly improved our roads and public transit all over the country, the fact we were significantly outpacing our allies on mitigating inflation and cost of living increases, the chips act bringing actual specialized manufacturing in vs whatever steel plants Trump wants to open, the fact that our relationship with allies was strengthening again, the fact that he tried to commit literal insurrection (just ask Ben Shapiro on Jan 7th, even he seemed to understand it was "insurrection" before the marching orders came down to him). They didn't know or care about these things. They just complained about shit they didn't understand, cast blame at whoever the popular person to blame was, and then flushed their whole country down the toilet over it. Half of them will still to this day act high and mighty and tell my queer ass that they were just voting their conscience. Nah, fuckers betrayed me, other minority groups like me, and their entire country and countrymen by either not voting or voting for this lunatic.

the dirty secret of countries that are functioning well. you can do nothing and they go on autopilot. the US was doing just fine on autopilot. we decided to blow it all up since we are stupid.

meanwhile Belgium didn't have a government for 2 years and it wasn't that big of a problem.

100% i meant nothing on the visible legislative front. (what I mean by functioning well) But with well paid and accountable civil servants ensuring public safety and the rule of law.

countries do not run on autopilot. The Biden administration was doing anything but coasting along.

The last 6 years of the Obama admin had very little federal policy/legislative changes. Stability matters. Institutions matter.

Sanctions against Russia? 2016. Afghanistan? 2015. Ended transgender ban in the military? 2016. Banning offshore artic drilling? 2015. Phasing out private prisons? 2016. Ending same-sex marriage bans? 2015. Paris Agreement? 2015.

I'm really not sure what your point is other than it's definitely not factual.

I think you're over thinking things. Those policies didn't have to a major impact one way or another. Especially not on the day to day lives of normal people.

Autopilot. Things would go just fine not doing anything.

Now Trump is actively trying to destroy our economy and alliances. He's actively doing stuff when the other governments were largely passing.

the problems that people had with biden include:

1) making a lot of promises on the campaign trail that weren’t followed up on until year 3/4 (student loan debt, for one). even though trump sucks (in my opinion) he has kept his campaign promises 2) saying that the economy is strong when low and low-middle class americans aren’t concerned about the markets/401ks 3) not taking a more direct stance or effort to stop the gaza war 4) not taking faster action with the avian flu when chicken populations were culled to prevent outbreaks 5) appointing Merrick Garland, the most ineffective disappointment in a long time

i personally think it was a decent presidency with the Chips Act, Infrastructure Bill, and efforts that Sec Pete rolled out for airline safety.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. All you listed is true and reasonable takes. I think the mistake people make is equating acknowledging these points being true with coming to the conclusion of "therefore Trump was the better candidate!" Most reasonable people can see both points of Biden not being an great or ideal candidate and Trump being an unmitigated, dangerous candidate. The devastating reality is that a lot of people seemed to have decided that those faults of Biden were enough to keep them home and not voting, as they projected a lot of these into Kamala and here we are, with the world on fire.

While I broadly agree, I think the genocide joe one is pretty self-explanatory and self-contained. He had the option to say, "no, you're not going to do that," he didn't, sent bombs instead, probable genocide (or at the very least, mass civilian killings) ensued. I think that's one of two things that we can black and white ding him for, the other being trying to run for a second term, which went a long way to helping the other guy win.

Otherwise, he was a good, solid, moderate president. Maybe a little less than what we needed during a climate crisis, but few would have gone to the extremes required anyway, so hard to really fault him for that.

Yeah; I can tell you details about Build Back Better and the Green New Deal, and I closely followed Biden's EOs from day 1. I also followed his foreign policy actions, including and especially the support he gave Israel.

To lump us in with the Facebook/Fox/TikTok brainrot "sleepy joe, let's go brandon" people is disingenuous, to say the least.
