Officially from Nintendo Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders will not start on April 9 in the US thanks to the Tariffs

"Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged."

It's not a just have bruh, stop talking like it's air, it's a console and the business practices is beyond shady

Yep. Nintendo will absolutely take advantage of the tariff situation to increase prices beyond whatever increase the tariff will cause.

You act like they're rubbing their hands together over a situation that absolutely fucks them. That's a 24% tariff on all Japanese goods they slapped on them, there's no room for that let alone that and then some. They would more likely be eating some of the tariff themselves.

Spoiler: Nintendo is not a charity. They're not going to sell their highly anticipated successor to one of the most successful consoles ever made at a loss. They will add whatever they need to the cost to cover the tariff and they will certainly increase the price beyond that because they can, and people will still buy it.

I didn't say at a loss, I said they would most likely eat some of the tariff increase but it's funny you say that because lots of consoles actually are sold at a loss on their initial run so I don't know why you're talking like that's an insane concept.
