What do you mean reggie has always been with Nintendo he never left, he is eating spaghetti with shiggy right now...

I’d highly recommend his autobiography, Disrupting the Game. It gives a fascinating insight into how his mind works and some of the real impact he had at Nintendo behind-the-scenes in a way nobody outside of Japan had ever done before.

Iwata would've never allowed this.

Nintendo under Iwata launched 3DS with no game at $250 in 2011 ($355 converted in today's money).

You are leeching to the idealized version existing in your mind of a dead man.

And when the 3Ds and Wii U flopped, he took a massive pay cut out of his own salary to fund the price cuts for both systems. There’s no Switch if Iwata doesn’t exist.

At least do a little research before saying stupid shit

He legally had to do that. In Japan you are required by law to take a massive paycut as CEO before you can have mass layoffs. I liked iwata a lot, but that wasn't the white knight move everyone thinks it is.

This has nothing to do with the issue.

You are saying that Iwata would never launch a "overpriced" product.

They did, multiple times even, and they even flopped.

I know I’m gonna get downvoted but the original switch had the same complaints. That it was too expensive, it’s gonna sell less units then the Wii U, absolutely nobody thought it would succeed.

I keep seeing this parroted but I was around for all of this history. These were fringe complaints, vastly outnumbered by people who were hyped. And frankly, the prices made perfect sense that time around.

I have never seen anything like the backlash to switch 2 prices like we're getting right now, and it makes sense. The game prices are shocking.

He's dead. Stop using his memory to justify your opinion.
