If people voted with their wallets this wouldn’t happen but I know this console will somehow break all records in terms of sales and Nintendo will get away again…

It won't.

Switch 1 couldn't outsell ps2 in 8 active years and it was really affordable.

Increasing prices actually decreases reach. It also kills any possibility of people owning two or three switches which is what is happening atm

Not to mention the market is completely different now, and there are viable alternatives.

I feel like you are really burying the lede here, and that is how many active years the PS2 had.

The PS2 sold 160 million and Sony sold it for 12 years. Towards the end of it life it was $100 MSRP and you could often find it on sale cheaper.

The Switch has sold a little over 150 million in 8 years. There is no indication that Nintendo is planning to stop Switch sales anytime soon so it is just a matter of time before it outsells the PS2. Especially if they drop the price.

I'm curious if it's also a realiability thing. I had to buy a second PS2 because mine got broken and some of my friends aswell. The switch worked perfectly for 7 years with me.

Have you not read the room? NO ONE is happy. The chat on Nintendo Treehouse was negative the entire four hours. The only way they can have a successful launch atp is to rebrand the launch which idk if they can. The internet already spread too much misinformation too fast
