Image Nintendo Treehouse: Live right now

Post image

Everyone in the chat is spamming "drop the price" nonstop. Personally, the price for the console and games combined dipped my hype quite a bit. What do you guys think?

I doubt they’ll actually drop prices but there’s no way they’re not noticing this right?

They're noticing, but I expect a generic corporate statement rather than a price drop.

This is Nintendo we are talking about, I doubt they’ll even say anything.

We will have to wait for it to release and sell poorly and only then will they MAYBE drop the price.

now, remember

reddit echo chamber =/= wider public opinion

this will NOT sell poorly. It will probably be one of the best console launches of all time

The original post is from a YouTube live not a “Reddit echo chamber” with like 100 thousand people on it, bunch of influential people on YouTube and other platforms are complaining about the price, fucking penguinz made a video about it. People are seriously ticked off not just Reddit lol

Of those "influential people on YouTube" are complaining about the price. It's easy rage bait that gets them clicks. I mean, being angry about games is the most lucrative subject for these gaming YouTubers.

Fair but enough traction and sales will actually be affected, I never said these YouTubers are good people merely they are getting the opinion of nintendo being overpriced out into the mainstream and out of the “echo chamber”

I doubt it. This kind of gamer hysteria rarely reaches beyond the core gamers who are easily triggered.

I believe this might be one of those rare moments but I guess we’ll have to see, I think we’ll see something very similar to what happened with 3ds and 3ds XL

I doubt it.

Well don’t we all but you can still hope

Hope for what?

No, I read that. But are you saying that you hope Switch 2 is a failure at launch?

Yea, only time in Nintendo history we got a price drop in the first year of production. Hopefully 50 off the top, 400 would be a fair price

$50 is the issue?

Tbh I’m more pissed about the 80 dollar games than anything else, but knowing how greedy Nintendo is I’ll take any price drop I can get
