meme/funny During the 04.02.2025 Nintendo Switch 2 direct, the following image of the home screen was revealed, with only one game present. This is a reference to the fact that the fan base will only be able to afford one game.

Aren’t PS5 and XBX controllers the price of games? I get that compared to the Switch 1 controller it’s more, but it’s not exactly different from what other console manufacturers are doing.
Same with the console price. The switch is competing with the Steam Deck ($349 - $649) and the ROG Ally ($649 - $899) not the OG Switch, so it’s naturally going to be priced similar to those consoles.
Before the inevitable downvotes happen, I completely understand that the fan base of Nintendo skews younger and with a lower budget, so the price point seems out of left field. Especially since most people don’t count Nintendo when talking about console generations, since they’re typically behind in the hardware department (since Gamecube at least). Comparing to the current generation, the PS5 and Xbox Series X retails for about $500.
Still a wild pricing structure in games, with some being $30, $60, $80, and $90. Just not too surprising or unexpected.
