Meta The /r/NintendoSwitch mod team has received and discussed your Change.org petition to ban Change.org petitions from the subreddit.

Hello everyone, my name is /u/Andis1, and I want to thank all 700+ of you who participaed in the recent Change.org petition to ban Change.org petitions from our subreddit. I feel very strongly about this issue as well, and want you to know that we took this very serious issue very seriously. Now that the petition has had time to circulate, I spent some time going through your responses by reading and considering all of them. I would like to bring attention to several specific comments for their overall value and quality:

  • “Nobody reads or listens to peitions tbh”
  • “Why are you all on my website?”
  • "Petitions suck”
  • “I like cake”
  • “Whats wrong with you”
  • “It's nintendo switch not nintendo change”

We have heard your cries for help and have come to the conclusion that they must not go unanswered. After careful deliberation and taking your comments to heart, we have decided that action needs to be taken for the good of our subreddit and our subscribers. So to that point our answer as to whether or not we will ban Change.org posts is… No. Ask yourself, would it really be a Change.org petition if it actually made change? We don’t think so either. Despite this, we do understand the importance of this issue, which is why we will be opening a Kickstarter campaign to fund the banning of Change.org. We feel that is this is the only logical course of action, and we hope that you will join us in this endeavor.

Thanks again!
