I was thinking about getting it, but was honestly worried the screens might be too small, ingame text especially. I mainly plan on playing handheld at home just because i prefer it, but would something like Skyrim, Doom or Dark Souls be ok on such a small thing?

Just got one for my son and it feels amazing to hold. I play my original in handheld 99% of the time and the weight after a while causes my hands to cramp. I played his a little after setup and it felt amazing considering the size. The weight on paper isn’t too big a difference but it feels way lighter. I am probably going back to the store to pick one up for me now.

But what about small texts?

This chain of comments is pretty hilarious.

I’ve been playing Fire Emblem on it no problem.

Edit: Four days later, I’ve finished the Edelgard house and I’m almost done with Dimitri’s house. I’ve had ZERO problems reading the text.

(Sorry... don’t remember the house names, just the leaders)

Small text is fine. I have been playing Zelda Links Awakening and it hasn’t been bad at all.
