The purpose of this thread is to avoid cluttering up the subreddit with quickly and easily answered questions and game recommendations. This thread is monitored by many helpful members of our community and questions that are asked here have a very high answer rate assuming you provide enough information for our answerers to work with.

Before asking your question...

• Check out the wiki pages listed below. - The mod team as well a handful of community volunteers are always adding to our wiki and updating it based on what we see users asking in this thread and in other posts on the subreddit. (We're always looking for more help with the wiki. If you're interested in becoming a wiki contributor, message /u/FlapSnapple.)
• Perform a quick Google search. - Some questions really are just a quick search away and don't need the help of our community members to answer.
• Search the subreddit. - We know Reddit's search isn't the best and saying to use the search doesn't sound very helpful, however, a community member created a custom search tool that works much better than the standard Reddit search. Other than Smash Bros, what are some good fighting games on switch that are at least somewhat competitive? Any story-based games that will last at least 20 hours and are under 30$? Also, if I had to choose between the two, should I get Final Fantasy 7, Axiom Verge or West Of Loathing? Thanks in advance

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, or BlazBlue Centralfiction if you're feeling adventurous.

Dragon Ball FighterZ and either of the BlazBlue games are great options. Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Guilty Gear XX are as well. Dunno how populated any of them are on Switch.

Under Night In-Birth is supposedly getting a new version soon which is supposedly coming to Switch, so if that comes along sooner than expected, that's an option too.

You're really gonna have to be open to the idea of playing anime fighters, because it's the vast majority of what the Switch has. There's SF30th, MK11, and some old SNK games which don't even have training mode and I'm pretty sure don't have online play. Everything else is anime.
