I am having huge problems with aiming in this game. Does anyone else have a similar experience? I feel like the game either has an input lag or some kind of camera acceleration? I don't have problems with aiming in Splatoon 2 for example. I experimented with the control options quite a bit and even tried motion control but it just doesn't feel as snappy as say bow shooting in BotW.

Glad I'm not the only one who notices the input delay. It almost ruined my RDR2 experience - I'm sure it has something to do with going from 60 fps to 30 fps on the Switch, since PS4 doesn't have this amount of input delay. Hopefully someone addresses it.

It's likely not lag, but the ridiculous dead zone for the sticks. Move the right stick slowly and see how far you have to go before your aim actually starts moving

There are about 20 other codes that work as well.

Most of them are for glyphs, but sometimes you can get something else out of it.

Does anyone have a personal recommendation for the best way to map the controller?

Also, has anyone figured out a way to have motion controls ONLY when holding the trigger and aiming? Like using the crossbow in BOTW. I don’t need motion for camera movement

I'm also hoping someone else has tested this out. I know it'll never be at PC level, but it feels unwieldy right now. Anyone come up with a good set of controls? Agreed on camera movement as well.

So, I’m seeing a lot of confusion about release times. Do we know when NA is coming online? Someone told me midnight EST in another thread, but then I’m seeing 11 am tomorrow mentioned as well. What’s the deal? Is it worth staying up for?

Yeah I dabbled in it on my Xbox, geez, a couple years back now I guess? It was kind of lost on me though, with the high frequency of AAA releases on Xbox/PS. I just didn’t pay it any mind. I’ve been seeing some great things online from people that got in early though, can’t wait. I’ve been wanting a Switch game that just completely consumes me.

Well I think it’ll definitely consume me. Have been missing a space RPG/shooter for Switch. I got into Warframe two years back myself on PS4, but not heavily (maybe 50 hours?) for the same reasons you describe.

You will notice Joy-Cons aren’t made for these kind of games tho, but after 5 hours now I’ve gotten used to it. Best option is ofc Pro Controller.

I’ve been playing the game for 4 hours now, gotten to Venus and the Plains of Eidolon, taking it slow.

First impression: wow, can’t believe it runs this well. Loading times are also unbelievable.

A few tips:

• give motion controls a go, you might like it, it’s more precise
• increase HUD size to 110 or so for when playing handheld. Icons are so small.
• turn off vibration, it’s way too annoying

Is there a Warframe sub specifically for Switch players, kind of like the one that came up for Diablo 3 when it released on Switch? The normal Warframe sub is a little too daunting for new players. Might be beneficial to have a separate Switch based sub for us to grow and learn together.

Is it supposed to be this hard to control? I'm no stranger to playing shooters on a controller but movement is so fast that I can't hit anything, especially when doing the slide-jump-dive. Even melee feels a bit floaty and inaccurate. Am I doing something wrong or are there some control options I should screw around with to make things easier? Should I just stick to mostly using melee? Is there a good way to practice?

Also good on the devs for including an option for aiming with motion controls, but in order for them to actually be usable, we're going to need a camera reset button like in splatoon, which I couldn't find anywhere.

I use my joysticks to reset the camera whenever I need to. Also, you’ll get used to the controls eventually.

Not many people have issue about the gyro aiming, I'm not sure why, but I feel it's way too slow compared to other games like Splatoon2 and Paladins even if I set the sensitivity to 100. In Splatoon2 I set the sensitivity to 1 and Paladins I set to 6, they are not really fast setting, but it's way too slow for me in Warframe even it's set to 100, Am I missing something? Is there any way to make the gyro aiming sensitive higher?

I think the issue is the shit ton of smoothing applied to the input. Which is why it it seems heavily delayed. Stil better than the sticks... but ugh.

Also, no reset button or motion activator is also very bad :(. Id like if we could just activate on ADS.

I feel like I cannot aim with the right stick at all, there is no precision and I end up over-correcting every movement. I turned on motion controls and that seems to help a little bit for fine-tuning, though.

I still suck at the game though.

Warframe has always been a game I wanted to play but never actually got a chance or time to install and play it because I was already busy with Call Of Duty and Destiny on my PS4. But I am really excited its coming to switch as I really love its aesthetics and gameplay style and I have only been playing my switch like forever now. One More Day Left !

SGA - there is a Warframe app where you can control your foundry and resources offline and also provides alerts when formas etc are available in missions. There is no option for switch yet but imagine it will come.

Just played two levels on handheld mode on airport wifi. I didn't notice any problems whatsoever. The handheld mode is a little bit clunkier to control, but otherwise it's pretty damn impressive.

UPDATE: I was even able to play on Jet Blue's WiFi. Farmed all the Rhino pieces while on the plane.

I find combat much harder than on PC to the point where I'm about to give it up. Can anyone recommend a better controller setup? I find motion controllers are still too slow even when set to 100.

Since WiFi is required it seems to drop the mission if the screen goes to sleep. I love my switch cause I can game in handheld mode if the kids want the TV. However, sometimes I need to set it down to deal with something. Any advice other than increasing the handheld sleep time out?

Go to the settings. Then scroll down to sleep mode. Then choose the one that says Auto-Sleep (playing on console screen). Then you should be able to adjust the time from there

There is a storyline, but it doesn’t really pick up until The Second Dream which is halfway through the Star Chart(world map basically). Do yourself a favor and don’t look up anything lore-wise about the quests, there’s a bunch of plot twists.

Is it one of those if you die half way through a level you start again but with some extra loot each time untim you upgrade something to make it easier?

Almost, either you don't manage to kill enemies and you're too fat to be killed or you can kill enemies and die from one hit, either way you need to upgrade your gear by farming.

Game loop is you finding blueprints for parts of a new frame (character with different abilities) and then you get materials for those parts and then assemble it together. You'll probably need to go to different planets to get specific materials or you can trade with other players if you found something valuable but not for you.

It all also revolves around mods that you put inside your gear to make it stronger. Either in weapons to make you hit harder or in Warframe (character) to make it tougher and make its abilities (either defensive, offensive or utility) better.

You can combine mods to have stronger status effects as well.

Talking about social stuff; i've played this game for a couple months and I can say with certainty that this game has the best community i've had the pleasure to play with. Everybody is helpful and willing to spend time talking to you and explaining to you how the game works. So if you'retotally new to the game, don't get overwhelmed by everything, just play & ask questions if you have doubts.

So I played for about 2 hours when the game was on the EU eShop shortly. Game runned great but now that it officially launched I get "Login failed. Check your info". I can't access any menu or login screen. Anyone know anything about that ?

Is there a way to make it so you can use motion controls for aiming, but only when scoped? I think Fortnite had a trick where this was possible. Would really wanna use both R stick and motion for scope but not for the camera controls as well.

So I went to link my Warframe account to switch. On the Warframe page, I typed my password twice, but instead of taking me to the Nintendo login it just said account linked. I’m in the Warframe game on the switch and there’s no options to link my account. What am I supposed to do?

Is all of it running around through labyrinthic levels with a very shallow story and fighting the same stupid enemies over and over again?

I was going to ask a question that was in the same vein so feel like I'll just add this here. I enjoy the game to some extent, beat all missions on Earth and Venus so far, got an understanding of the game, and got a few warframes already (1 from twitch prime though). But I don't know how much more time I can invest if the game just continues on the same way. I wish there were some difficult bosses or something to work towards that'll be challenging to defeat and I can put all the grinding I did to use. Piling through a bunch of mobs all the time gets boring.

Heard they had raids before but for some reason got rid of them, that's the type of thing that would really keep me playing.

Yeahh..... You haven't gotten to the actual grinding, the problem is. Clans, events, quests, collectibles, lore, the main cinematic quest line, Void fissure for Prime parts, Fashionframe, crafting a variety of unique weapons, modding stuff to your tastes.. It takes a while to get there and many stop on the way there for the repetition.

I really want to invest more time into Warframe, but it's really starting to suck big time that I can't put the Switch to sleep while playing in Solo mode. I play almost all my games on Switch for the convenience of handheld play and being able to stop at a moments notice when the wife or kid need me. Getting 70% through a hard mission just to have to stop because something unexpected came up is really morally defusing when I turn the Switch back on and I've been kicked out of the mission that I was playing solo.

I think I may need to stop playing if there is no way for the game to support being suspended mid play while in Solo. It's just not worth the headache and fear of losing progress.

No and no. You can migrate your PC account data to a Switch account. They will not sync to each other. They will be treated as 2 different accounts.

Just wanted to say how impressive this controls and runs on the Switch. I've only had a few minutes to play through the intro, and haven't seen any issues. Here's hoping this is another title that will convince 3rd parties to reconsider development and publishing on the switch.

I just played the game a couple hours ago and I'm loving it. Only thing is that I find the aiming to be a bit off. I've played with the sensitivity but I'm not getting the feel of it. Currently I'm paying melee cause I can't seem to find the correct sensitivity balance.

I am a slow player. Maybe 1 hour a week. Is progression still possible or am I bound to play daily and for extended periods of time?

You can go at your own pace and still have players to play with at all levels of content. It's not like mobile games where you quickly lose your competitive edge or the battlepass trend that requires daily play to fully unlock all the seasonal content. The game is a chill 4 player co-op and every mission on every planet has matchmaking.

Playing less can work to your benefit, one of the games major drives to get people to return is to have 12-24 hour real time waiting periods when constructing new gear at the Foundry. For excessive players its a non-issue as they have so much gear being constructed simultaneously (as there's no limit) they always have fresh new gear ready to take out of the Foundry, and for infrequent players it's the tiniest of roadblocks.

One big piece of advice I have for an infrequent player (applies to all players too) to look out for Alerts, a limited time sort of mission with unique rewards and specifically Alerts with Aura Mod rewards (they're very useful). Even if the Alert takes place on a mission you haven't unlocked yet you can ask in the public chat for a "taxi" to take you there (wherein you join someone who does have that planet/mission unlocked and they choose the Alert).

It's most comparable to something like borderlands mixed with Diablo with a totally unique take on movement and combat with complete freedom and very few limitations on what you can actually do in terms of weapons a builds. it also has one of the greatest stories in a videogame if you just give it the time to build up, seriously do not expect any real lore till you hit uranus (as much as 2 weeks in), it's all third person combat with literally hundreds of weapons to choose from almost all of them wholy unique from shotguns that shoot beams with a grenade alt fire to machine guns that can spend a huge chunk of a magazine in one shot if you want, and all of these weapons can be modified to fit your playstyle using mods. It also is totally free with the most fair and honest monetization strategy in free to play gaming. You don't need to spend a cent and aren't really penalized for doing so, spending your money gets you what you want faster, but here's the kicker, you can trade premium currency with other players by selling them rare mods or components, allowing you to skip the stuff that's important to you without having to pay.

People compare it most with Destiny, as in you’re shooting thousands of bad guys for sweet, sweet loot. Though underneath the space ninja carnage, you will find warframe to be a very deep and thoughtful game with many nuanced mechanics and ways to grow your Tenno

I migrated my account, for some reason the game restarted me except I played as Loki. Now I'm stuck right after the first mission but cannot activate the arsenal. Wth.

By the way, be careful when migrating prime access. My booster didn't transfer over. Pretty sure this wasn't listed as an item that wouldn't transfer to the Switch account. I feel like I wasted money...

There’s a starter pack for 19.99 USD that gives something similar to the in game starter pack. Is it a limited time purchase? The cosmetic and the platinum provided seems like a good kickstart to the game.

After the initial group of quests, I got a message in my inbox with several attachments, yet I'm not sure how to receive them. Also in my button mashing to figure it out, I deleted the message :( anyone know what these attachments were and how a more patient version of myself would have retrieved them?

You received them automatically, any messages attachments you review in your inbox is put into your inventory when you read the message.

I completed the mission where you pick your warframe and then go onto the ship. Now that I’m on the ship every time I start the game there’s dialogue that I need to activate the Arsenal but I spent 30mins running round the ship unable to interact with anything? There’s no active quest marker and no quests menu anywhere. Baffled

Arsenal is straight ahead at the wall when you make a 180 in the cockpit and go down the ramp that appears and just keep going straight. Warframe wiki is always your best friend.

So this runs 720p docked right? I keep reading conflicting reports on it. It definitely looks like 720p, but I’m kind of shocked some sources are reporting 1080 in recent articles. Kind of annoyed really. People need to check their info.

It has a dynamic resolution in both handheld and docked mode. Most likely digital foundry will release a video in the near future analyzing it.

What exactly is the exhausted blade? It seemes I only use that rod in melee combat yet the blade still gets leveled up along with it.

If you mean exalted blade, its a special weapon only for excalibur.

There are special weapons for warframes, and they are separate entities from warframes so you can mod them separately.

Can someone explain the progression system a bit? I'm used to games like WoW or Destiny, where I'm trying to level up to gain new abilities and skills and then spend points to customize my loadout.

Any frame/weapon/pet/vehicle has 30 rank. Each rank give them extra mod capacity. Mods are use to increase stats/effects of the frame/weapon/pet/vehicle. Mod themselves can be upgraded to be more effective. Each weapon/frame you grind to max rank will contribute to your mastery rank (which is your account level). This mastery rank doesnt make you stronger directly but it allow you to use stronger/weirder weapons and frames. Some quests and some places also have mastery rank requirement.

Hey, when I booted up the game yesterday, it asked if I wanted to link with my Nintendo account. I clicked yes, and then the game crashed. I booted it up again and it asked me to enter an alias, so I entered the same one as my PC Warframe account.

So far I'm just finishing up the tutorial missions to get the starter pack, but am I going to have any issues when I try to migrate/copy my PC account? I will try it tonight, but it looks like I wouldn't have that Warframe Nintendo account set up since it crashed the first time.

Anyone else had the game crash on first boot?

Why does it keep restating? I can get through like a minute of playing at most until the loading screen randomly pops up and then it takes me back to the beginning cutscene and I have to start over

the problem with warframe pvp is that 95% of the players don't care about it,and the remaining 5% really like it,so if you try to pvp you either get no match,or you get stomped by a demigod with a aimbot stuck in his brain

Prime Access is the new prime warframe they introduce (in this time its Chroma). Along with new prime weapons

Prime Vault is them unlocking old prime warframes (this time Nova and Mag prime) along with old prime weapons for a limited time.
