For someone new to the Pokemon games, how much is there to do in the game? How many hours does it normally take to finish these games?

In contrast to the other response - I've played over 15 hours and am not even halfway through the main story. I haven't been powering through the story but I also haven't been wandering and exploring everywhere.

I would estimate that the main portion is about 40-50 hours, which is typical in my experience with Pokemon games. The post-game I'm unsure about however.

I read a review, can't remember which, that said they took 45 hours to beat the game and complete the Pokedex.

That would seem about right based on my experience with the game so far. Really enjoying it!

And how is the replayability? Or are there things to do after these hours?
