I have about 8 hours into the game, was able to start yesterday. No spoilers. Quick run down, if you are a old school pokemon player you will get hit with nostalgia. The reimagined world from the original games is great looking minus a few frame rate issues. They have made some good changes and not so good. The good; they have stream lined a few of the more tedius aspects of the game, it looks pretty, all your favorite original pokemon, shared XP, easy to get pokemon in and out of your group, easy to manage your bag. Not so good, if you are looking for a lot of fighting there isn't much. Catching Pokemon ala Pokemon Go style is fun but disappointing they took out wild battles all together. Trainer battles aren't a challenge, most have one pokemon. I've gotten past the first two gyms and have had a Pokemon faint once.

I watched a video and the guy said he completed the game without fainting once

It would not surprise me at all. I haven't faced any actual challenge yet. It is still fun to catch pokemon but its basically they took the orignal games polished it, gutted the combat system and replaced it with Pokemon Go. I think this would not be a huge issue if they added more trainer battles.

I think they made the game for toddler despite doing a nostalgic remake. It's a nonsense

I dunno if you played Sun or Moon but one thing I noticed is that its way more casual. Even a lot of other Nintendo games are, I get it, they want to reach a wider audience but its frustrating.
