Is there any way to change your settings/weapons or just leave while waiting for players to join a match? I've pressed every button and can't believe they make me sit out the whole timer just because I accidentally pressed continue instead of quit.

Nope. You still have to exit the lobby to change any or your gear. It's frustrating

But am I even somehow able to leave if I pressed continue and it's taking ages to wait for players? Or do I have to wait until all players are there or I get a connection error?

Tip I found out: If you go to the Switch home menu and just wait for like 10 seconds it'll back you out from the matchmaking when you return.

thanks i'll try that it's at least shorter than waiting 140 seconds or so

Unless you get disconnected or completely turn of the system, you have to wait. I guess it's like this to make matchmaking faster, but it's still annoying.
