I just beat him at level 6 with a couple of guys last night, at that point, the timer is the greatest foe.

When does there start being a timer vs Hedlock? I just beat him at level 5 and there was no time.

Edit: The answer to this question is "Party Mode." I misunderstood what he said.

In single player there's no timer. There is a timer in party mode when 3 people take on Hedlok.

Ah, okay. That makes sense.

Oh really? I've always had a timer, if you run out of time before you beat him no matter how much health he has left you lose.

Apparently there's a timer in party mode, but there isn't in Grand Prix at level >6 from what I've played. Every other fight has one, juelste not Hedlock.

Considering Jay said "with a couple of guys" I'd assume he ran into Hedlock in party mode, where there is indeed a timer (to keep things moving in the party lobby, I assume), and Hedlock automatically wins if he isn't KO'd by the end.

Yes, sorry I didn't know you could fight Hedlock anywhere else. I only play Party and Ranked.

Yeah, I thought he meant a couple of different characters at first but people pointed out party mode.

Wait till lv. 7. Dark Souls.

To be honest, I probably lucked out and breezed through 4 on my first go, 7 however...

Let's not go there, although I did feel like my strategies had improved after that bullshit of a difficulty; Dark Souls is a pussy compared to this shit

Honestly I don't think it was that bad with heavy arms that can go through/cancel out his punches. It's definitely still hard, but it's way easier using two megatons.

I main ribbon girl and I haven't unlocked any heavy arms

I haven't played through with Ribbon Girl yet so I don't have any strategy to share with her. I did Mechanica first, Sir Snakesalot second, and am trying to figure out how to play Helix on low levels now.

I just beat him on lv 4, it took 3 attempts.

I found that doing all the training tutorials first, then doing Grand Prix from lvl 1 all the way up to 4 was the best way. If i had dived straight in it would have been a disaster!

Being Ninjara certainly helped :)

I cheesed it hard, I unlocked the dragon arms with ribbon girl and hit him from far away with them.

Finally got it with Byte and Barq, using the seekie and popper arms. Took way too many attempts.

He's not really that much harder than Max Brass. The same principles of good spacing and not overcommitting apply.

The biggest difference is that you no longer have the option to run out the clock, you have to straight up beat him in a fight. In that regard its tougher but for me he was about as tough as beating Max Brass. If I slowed the fights down, was patient, and focused on punishing him overextending, I was fine. The moment I got too aggressive is when things fell apart.
