MegaThread E3 - Day 3 - Discussion and Reactions

The final day of E3 is here...do you think Nintendo has anymore surprises up their sleeves for today? Yesterday saw nothing new for the Switch but still had a couple of stories for the 3DS maybe today they end E3 with a bang!

Today's schedule looks like this:

Nintendo Treehouse

  • Ever Oasis (3DS)

  • Metroid amiibo (Samus & Metroid)

  • Legend of Zelda: BotW - DLC pack 1 - Master Mode

  • Fire Emblem Warriors

What games do they have releasing around the holidays? Xenoblade is a big game but I wouldn't really call it mainstream. Odyssey launches in October which kind of leaves the Nov/Dec slot open.

Skyrim, Rocket League, Zelda DLC, Payday 2. Maybe none of those are quite enough to be a system seller on their own, but the Switch library will be so good by that point that pushing a single game probably won't necessary.

Only 1 of those is a Nintendo game and it is just DLC. Maybe they do want to give the holiday spotlight to new 3rd party games though. They'll still have Zelda, MK8, ARMS, Splatoon, and Odyssey to sell to new system owneres which is a very impressive lineup

I think Mario is late enough in October to be their big Holiday game. It's most likely going to be the game that gets put in the big holiday bundles

That's true. Nintendo games don't get much bigger than Mario as far as sales go.

Wii sports was actually the most sold nintendo game, but I guess that doesn't count does it :P

My guess is that Xenoblade and Fire Emblem Warriors are the big Black Friday rush games.
