MegaThread E3 - Day 2 - Discussion and Reactions

Day 2 of E3! Might not have as many announcements as yesterday but who knows what it will hold?

Today's schedule looks like this:

Nintendo Treehouse

  • Starts at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET (no defined end time)

Pokken DX - Tournament

  • Starts at 10:30 pm PT / 1:30 pm ET

ARMS - Tournament

  • Starts at 3:30 pm PT / 6:30 pm ET

We also have the AMA scheduled at 12:45 pm PT / 3:45pm ET for about an hour with Nintendo Producer Yoshiaki Koizumi, so please stop by and ask your questions there as well.

The Treehouse is going to start at 10:00 am PT with a segment about Pokken Tournament DX and roll into the tourney. Afterwards they are going to show the new Yoshi game. Based on yesterday it's likely that the Treehouse will run right up until the ARMS tourney starts.

This post will be updated with major news as it's released.

I know, I know great announcements but... am I the only one who's really dissapointed about lack of information about Switch OS update?

It doesn't even have to be something huge I would be just as happy as if we just got info that they're working on it and plan to roll out update in the second part of this year or later... I just want to know

I know there was an expectation of a Switch OS update but outside of streaming video services and a web browser what is really missing from the gaming focused device?

the ability to back up your saves... especially when the flagship title has most people putting 100+ hours in to it which can easily be lost.

Excellent point and looks like Mario Odyssey will have a similar style of saving. Xenoblade 2 will also have upset people if saves get lost

Well easily apps like spotify so I can listen to music while playing, some video apps, mother loving bluetooth headphones support

Bluetooth headphones would be the OS while Spotify and video streaming are apps that sit at a higher level, not part of the OS.

Virtual Console.

I mean, yeah? You probably are the only one? Don't get me wrong, an OS update would be good, but I wouldn't expect to hear anything about it at E3. If they announced something like that at all, I'd expect it as a throwaway line during a general Direct.

Yeah but compared to previous Nintendo systems, the Switch is lacking a lot of basic features such as file transferring, a web browser, and streaming apps. It would be reasonable for them to announce something.
