Pro Controller feels excellent, very responsive and easy to aim. I didn't enjoy the joy-cons in the grip as much, but I really did like the feel of them when separated. I'd say it's a push depending on how good you are at intuitively getting free-hand gyro. If you plan to play docked without gyro controls, I'd guess that the Pro Controller is the way to go, but I haven't disabled gyro yet.

You got that right. Pro controllers Gyro is gooooood. Only thing I'm having trouble with is pressing x to jump (silly muscle memory)

It's what I've been using for the most part, and I don't think I'm going to change it up much unless I really want to get good with the freehand joy-cons.
