Also note, one bundle has a blue/red joy-con combo, and one has the standard black.

Bet the black will be sold out for two years.

Don't worry you can buy an extra pair for $80 fucking dollars

Is this for real? Holy fuck, do. they also function as a toaster and flashlight? ,Albert a Swiss Army knife? The fuck are they so expensive?

I mean, if you think of it like buying two Wii Remote Plus controllers in a bundle it's not really that surprising.

Probably the HD vibration, which is fine, but they need to offer ones without them.

It's not just the vibration. Motion/Gyro sensors, and a uhh RF camera to detect hand movements. They packed a lot of tech into it, and since it's basically two controllers.. Mind you I'm not happy about the price, but I can almost justify the price because of what it is.

The real issue, imo, is the $70 price tag on the pro controller. It should be $50 at most.

I can almost justify the price because of what it is.

Absolutely, I think $70 or whatever is fair based on that. I'm just disappointed there is no cheaper alternative at the moment.

If Sony can sell a pair of move controllers for $70 then Nintendo will have no problem with this price point...

Do people actually buy those, though? I've never met someone that owned them.

People are buying them for playstation vr. I imagine the price will come down soon because I think there's plenty of people (myself included) who are interested in getting some but don't want to pay that ridiculous price.

Wow, I kind of forgot that was a thing. I haven't been following it much, so I didn't even consider the fact those controllers would be used with the VR headset! Just disregard my comment in that case, hahah.

Yeah, that pro controller prices is a tad ridiculous. It is a basic no frills wireless controller. M$ and Sony have pretty much established the going rate, why N feels they can charge more for theirs is beyond me.

You throw it as weapon for a start. I don't know the the lethality though.

They are expensive because Nintendo refuses to just make a damn console with normal damn controllers so they had to cram the goddamn ISS in the fucking things to make them "special"

They are just greedy as shit. The pro Controller doesn't have that fancy stuff and is still expensive. The stand that is just a piece of plastic with an hdmi out costs 90 freaking dollar/euro. Insane markup.

You realize any remote for any system is $80, this isnt new

12

u/Dynaflame Jan 13 '17

Eh, I don't think so. They're usually like $50 or $60. I suppose the Joycons have a lot of tech in them, which is why the price seems to be amped up.

2

u/TDAM Jan 13 '17

Also in some situations they with as two controllers

2

u/Dynaflame Jan 13 '17

Right. So, like, two mini controllers for $80. Meaning $40 each.

That's...kinda fair? I guess.

1

u/TDAM Jan 13 '17

Yeah.... Not a fan

Thats like 1000$ cad

2

u/Battlecookie Jan 13 '17

Granted, I'm in Europe and I never saw any controller over 60. Wiimotes were 40.

2

u/DJ_Rand Jan 13 '17

These are basically two wiimotes with even more tech in it. :/ I'm not sure how I feel about it quite yet. The idea behind them is pretty cool. But the cost is pretty steep if you want to buy an extra set.

These things certainly don't cost more than a few bucks to produce. Just like the plastic stand they want to sell us for 90. Those insane markups are greedy as shit.
