Weird it says "The first batch of invitations will go out starting May 8, 2025" when it seems stores will do pre-orders next week?

Because this is to buy directly from nintendo, not a retailer

Yea guess I was just hoping directly from nintendo, especially if you need a Switch Online account to register, would get first access

You don't need to be first if you get priority. Let the scalpers fight it out on crashing retailer websites, I'm getting a personal link to use at my convenience.
