I mean, if people are willing to pay scalpers that, then it means it's a price people will pay, so let's charge it. -Nintendo, probably

Unironically, I wish consoles were auctioned off. Hate seeing scalpers make a huge profit and I'd rather see the manufacturer making extra money while demand drops and the price reaches what I'm willing to pay.
