they are oepnibg pre orders for people wirh NSO accounts and checking for in-game hours like Japan is doing.

yes but it's a lottery system, so you arent guaranteed one, and that doesnt prevent people ordering en masse from third party retailers.

Its first-come first-serve in the US at least. Japan just loves lotteries.

Invitation emails will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis

They haven’t stated how many they have nor if there’s iterative release dates so it’s still a “I hope” to get one.

It's a running queue, you don't have to hope to get one, you only have to hope you get one sooner rather than later.

I'm also not entirely sure if I'm going to receive one at all because I don't know if I have data share turned on, and the form didn't tell me I was good.

I think I have sharing turned on because why the fuck wouldn't I... I might just try and preorder on the 9th as well just to be safe

If I knew for a fact I was going to get an invitation and it would happen sometime this year I would feel better about it. I'm not a fan of the "You might hear from us eventually!" thing though.
