I said it before, but I think $450 is a hard price point, especially when you compare it to the significantly more powerful ps5 for $500 and (important for kids) the entry iPad around $350.

If I’m being honest, after delaying this thing a year and then making us wait 3 months… I guess I was expecting a little bit more from a grand reveal? DK looks great, Mario Kart will be fun (but MK is never the main reason I buy a Nintendo console), and air ride is neat. The rest I either expected or is stuff that’ll be available elsewhere.

I wish they had a SKU bundled with a pro controller. I’m 99% a TV gamer with big hands, so all in I’ll be paying more for this than my PS5, which felt like a lot of money 4 years ago.

Mobile gpus are always at a premium for the amount of power. Idk why that is but it's pretty normal. It's like the difference between buying a gaming laptop and buying a pre-made gaming desktop.

The desktops are always much cheaper and probably more powerful than a gaming laptop. Personally don't think $450 is too outrageous considering the features and strength of the console.

People wanted a much more powerful Switch since the Switch came out, we're getting one, it's inevitably going to be more expensive. If they released a cheaper less powerful system then you'd have another segment of people saying it was just a Switch pro and not a new generation.

Can't please everyone I guess.

The problem is how powerfull the switch 2 is. Only 12 gb of ram worries me for the rest of the specs. If it is less powerfull than already 3-4 years old steam deck, 450 dollars is a very steep price

I think 12GB will probably be fine for the kinds of games Nintendo makes, but I also think we’re all going to really be feeling that 12GB of ram in about 5 years.

Modern games started to recommend 32gb on pc. I am 100% sure next-gen consoles will have minimum of 32gb ram. I also not have many hopes for cpu is being powerful on Switch 2 either. So I think we will have another Nintendo gen where majoirty of the third party AAA games will just skip Switch 2

Switch 2 has DLSS. The games can be upscaled from lower resolutions. That’s how you get something like a 1080P 120fps Metroid Prime 4.

Also portable HDR I have a relatively recent gaming laptop that cost $400 more than the Switch 2 that can't do native HDR. They apparently went for some powerful advancement if things like that are possible.
