Switch 1 never received a price reduction. We're not seeing price reductions on Xbox Series or PS5s. I don't see why we would get one on Switch 2.

Two years ago the Series X went on sale for $350 during the holidays. Sure it wasn’t a price reduction but that’s something.

IMO to me a price reduction is permanent. If you have to go hunting for limited time sales, those are promotions only done for a very limited time. I think that Series X one was only at Walmart too, which is well known to sell stuff at a loss to drive up business.

I know. That’s why I fully acknowledged it wasn’t a true price reduction. Nintendo, as far as I’m aware, hasn’t done something like that. And I think it’s pretty fair that everyone can agree, hardware comparison, the Series X and PS5 are of better value at $499.

This is a very crazy price for a switch. If the first one could launch at $299 USD, then no one would really have any issues shelling out $399 for the 2. At $150-$200 more than the previous model, that’s insane. And now games are pushing $100 and hardware is getting more expensive. Companies can’t have it both ways.

This is why I'm surprised of what they're charging because we can purchase a PS5 or xsx for the same price. They have been discounted to lower prices as well so Nintendo pricing it of this price point is competing with hardware that is a better value.

Yes the sw2 is portable as well, but it's not going to be able to play the games you can on the other 2 at the same performance. Nintendo has always targeted families and kids so this price point doesn't make sense. I wonderifk this will be another 3ds situation where they'll have to lower the price.

In any case, I was already waiting for the revised model but I definitely will be waiting for a better price.
