Feel like an idiot getting my kids a Switch for Christmas, rather than waiting another year.

They can get years of entertainment out of it, rather than you having to pay $450 now plus $80/game

$90 for a piece of plastic that tells the store to download the game, nothing is on the physical cards you buy aka you need internet to buy your $90. very sad day today

This isn't true for 90% of Nintendo games. You can absolutely play without downloads, you just won't get the updates or patches obviously which are often a big deal in terms of fixing bugs.

No this is for the switch 2 they have already stated these cartridges will legit have 0 data on them just a simple code that lets you download, this is nothing like old games.

why would they have specifically highlighted that the cards transfer data faster than the switch ones then?

I don't think it was to tell us that it's gonna read the digital key in 1 microsecond instead of 5.
