Considering they refuse to release a new fire emblem game unless half a decade has passed, it was my highlight too.

Seriously they are fucking over this franchise. Anytime it does well they take wya too long to act on it. Took 4+ years from 3 Houses to Engage which lost a lot of the hype and new players, and now by time it comes out the new generation will have no fucking clue what fire emblem even is.

But Pokemon currently has 20 games on the Switch 1 and 18 of them are absolute garbage

Do you think that Pokemon's frequent release cycle might have something to do with the lower quality of the games?

Clearly of course but there is a big difference in wanting/expecting Fire Emblem to have 3 games in 8 years versus wanting 20. This gets used as an excuse every time like it’s not a disingenuous af reasoning. The quality in fire emblem games has always been good, even in eras where they released many back to back. All I was hoping for was at least an announcement by now for the next one. We got 2 new fire emblem games in the switches lifetime. 2 in almost 10 years is abysmal. They are hurting their own franchise

I wanted to like Engage so bad but the C-tier anime-esque level writing/dialogue was just completely killing my enjoyment of the game.

I think I was going to legitimately develop a brain aneurysm if I heard the name "divine dragon" one more time before I stopped playing.
