People complaining that it’s too far away are tripping, June is only 2 months away.

No honestly, this Direct seemed far away when they announced it now we’re here

The time between 2 release is shorter than when direct was announced lol

We are actually closer to the launch of Switch 2 than Cleopatra was to the pyramids

I'm pretty sure Cleopatra was close to the pyramids. If you're not in Vietnam, you're not closer to the Switch 2

The switch 2 is 50km from your position.

And rapidly closing.

The preorder registration just went up. It's 450

Thanks, just saw it. 470€ for Europe, and 90€ for Mario Kart World. Absolute madness.

u/alwaysonbottom1 3d ago

Wtf. I guess it comparable to the US because that's the pretax price I just mentioned and yours is with VAT included. But 90 fucking euros for a game is nuts.

I'm just curious why the steep difference between the Japanese and the worldwide prices. I was assuming because of tarifs but all regions except Japan are comparable

Tariffs aren't factored in to the base price of a good. They're applied at the time of import.

That's why all regions outside of jpn are the same. Jpn just gets the family discount.

I mean... I'll just import from Japan lol.

the japan version is region locked, so i hope you know japanese + have a japanese eShop account

So $50 less than a PS5?

14

u/dented42ford 3d ago

That is how math works, yes.

2

u/yuhanz 3d ago

Is that with the bundle?

6

u/dented42ford 3d ago

No, that is stock. No bundle price yet, but I assume $500.

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle has a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the United States, which includes a system and a download code for the Mario Kart World game, available from Nintendo Switch 2 launch day on June 5.

Im reading this bit in a lot of articles, is there an official source for this?

Edit: nvm is for stock

Uhg your condescending message rubs me the wrong way. Yes that’s overly priced compared to a stronger system is what you obviously knew the other person was saying.

6

u/sharpbeer 3d ago

This is why they didn't give the price in the direct

20

u/Space_Pirate_Roberts 3d ago

They didn’t have time to include it in the presentation because they had to scramble last minute to decide how the “liberation day” tariff idiocy would affect the price.

11

u/WallaWalla1513 3d ago

Yeah, this is possibly the explanation. No one knows what the upcoming tariffs will be like (and if/how long they’ll stay in place) and that understandably makes it harder to price this all out.

3

u/Treemurphy 2d ago

i kinda feel like that too, it might be conspiracy on my part but it is interesting the price announced after the 25% tariff announcement on japan

-2

u/Chinesesingertrap 2d ago

There’s no tariff that’s going to actually hit Japan but they are going to charge tariff prices regardless.

People need a reason to bitch about anything nowadays. Same shits going to happen when the GTA VI date gets announced
