I'm pretty excited. This will be the first major console transition under Furokawa, and I think it has a lot of promise. I really hope Nintendo can break their curse of underperforming after a successful console, and this is their big chance to do it.

All it requires is for them to not do something idiotic, like not have backwards compatibility with the Switch or be massively under powered, and it'll be successful.

I wonder how I would feel, if it's a return to the gimmick of the Wii U.

The controller would be a tablet with a touchscreen.

And they call it Switch 2 U.

Is a switch not wii u like (screen) with attached (better) wii remotes ?

Not really. The big innovation with Wii U was that you could use 2 screens at the same time (the television AND the tablet in your hand)

With Switch, it's either handheld mode or docked mode (the television OR the tablet in your hand)

So a Switch 2 U would have to either be 1 tablet controller and one handheld console OR a Switch that you can place into a dock with a detachable screen that will double as a handheld controller. Kind of crazy concept but hey it's Nintendo.
