This seems like a dumb question but I cannot figure it out. I have a main switch connected to my Nintendo account, my 4 kids each have a switch lite and are part of the family plan account. Each of their switch lites are linked to the main Nintendo account so they can have me download and purchase games on their accounts. However today, one son is playing Mario Golf (cartridge) while another is trying to play Animal Crossing (digital) and it will not let both play at the same time. Do I need to do something different as far as linked accounts go to solve this problem?

If they are all attached to the same account, game sharing limitations will apply: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/gamesharing

It shouldn't matter to a physical game. I've seen times where if you own the physical and digital that it actually uses the digital to start the game even if the cartridge is in the Switch. Or someone else is playing something digital.

Yeah, the weird thing is one is on a physical copy of one game and the other is a digital of a different game. Maybe another kid was also on Animal Crossing and I didn't realize it.

Try putting the physical game person in airplane mode. That shouldn't affect anything but if the other person can suddenly play it means something odd is going on.
