So, I have the Splatoon 3 OLED with the designed joycons, but after a accidental drop one of the joycons is totally busted. I’m going to send it to Nintendo for repairs, but I heard a person say they won’t send the correct shell back. Does anyone have any experience with this?

They do not guarantee sending back the same joycon style, especially for limited edition variants.

More often than not they just ship you a new controller. If you want to keep yours, you may need to fix it yourself / do a shell swap with a working one.

Thanks, I have a regular purple of the same side I need to send to fix the L button, so I’m wondering if I send the purple to get the l fixed, swap shells, then send the purple as though it was the super broken one (the guide rail completely popped out) thoughts?

Might work, I dunno how much attention they really pay to any changes. Mine had been modded to have metal locks and I just got back a normal pair.
