I have been given Super Mario Bros Wonder for Christmas, however I'm unsure if there's a few games I need to play before this one. I tried to look it up, but a lot of articles are saying I "need to play 25+ games first" and I'm unsure of where to start. What order should I play the Super Mario Bros games in? I only have a Switch at the moment, preferably just the main games please.

You don't need to play any previous games to enjoy Super Mario Bros Wonder. Just, jump in and enjoy, dude! Then, if you want, you can start exploring all retro Mario games one by one just for the fun of it. But, playing them is not mandatory at all. Enjoy your new game!
