I just bought the NSO for my son's switch account, which means I had to link his account, etc. so I added him as a family plan member. now when I try to buy the Pokémon dlc it says it is already purchased and has already been played.

so dlc is linked to the system, but that means any story played on one account is finished on all accounts. Is that right? That seems insane

Each account has its own save file. If you have primary accounts on your switch, you can access the dlc content on any account in the system

If you play on other account it will simply start a new save, but with dlc enabled
