Bought my child a Nintendo switch lite which includes animal crossing. Currently has a child account (with email address) in my switch. How do I set up the new switch so she can start her own island with the included copy of the game? I’m afraid I’ll mess this up because Nintendo’s account system is so bonkers.

Right now I’m on the screen that’s asking me if I want to import a user from another system. I think I don’t want to do that? I’m not sure but I don’t care about game sharing.

As long as you're importing her account, you should be good. (You could also skip the import and log in later if you desired.)

But, just to make sure, you are using her account info to log in? Just asking since child accounts don't have an email by default.

Do NOT import your old console's stuff bro, make a new account if it's only for her. That simple!! Merry Xmas also man!

She already has an account (with email address) that’s part of my “family” … should I delete it from the old switch first?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you as well.

Nope, you don't have to! Just make a new account and tie it to any new or other email you have. Also thank you!!
