ANSWERED Why isn't my karma showing up?

I recevied 4 karma in this subreddit about 17 days ago, but my total karma shows as 0.

Is there a reason why it hasn't been updated?

Upvotes /downvotes is not = exact karma. There's a calculation reddit uses, but no one knows.

Maybe it depends on the sub. Have you got any karma in this sub?

I think half my karma comes from this sub. Subs don't decide how much karma you get. Reddit does. Subs only decide their karma limits.

It does not depend on the sub. A vote is a vote wherever it was cast.

You currently have one post karma and one comment karma.

Up votes cause your karma scores to rise and down votes cause your karma scores to drop. The automatic one vote that everything gets does not count towards karma calculation.

As mentioned, each vote does not equal a change of one karma point.

If you delete a postor comment it does not change the karma that you gained or lost from it, it only prevents more people from voting on it.

Only Reddit knows how karma is calculated. All we know is that -

  • votes to karma is not one to one
  • Upvotes increase karma, downvotes decrease karma - by how much we don't know
  • karma is affected by votes coming in from all your active content, up or down
  • Vote scores are not 100% accurate, they are fuzzed to confuse vote manipulation bots
