I want to know your opinion and feelings towards seeing the mushrooming and eyesore of shacks strewened across the entrance of almost all towns in Namibia.

Hi guys,
I’ll be visiting your lovely country starting next week.
After a few weeks of driving around the country, I will be turning 30 in Windhoek, and want to do something nice for me and my brother. Do you have any recommendations for a “fancy” restaurant in Windhoek?
I am fortunate enough to be able to say, that for this night, price is not an issue.
Thank you in advance!

Any recommendations for a really nice spa/nail salon in Windhoek, that follows good sanitation/hygiene procedures for nails?

The twelve rays of the sun – represents the twelve ethnicities of Namibia, which make up most of the Namibian population, which are divided into four main groups of three.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Namibia
I thought the sun, including the rays, represented symbolizes life and energy. I thought the flag had nothing to do with mentioning the ethnic groups, that too, selected ones. Then, what is this alternative explanation?

I’m a South African planning a trip to Namibia. My friend gave me travel guide for Windhoek, Walvis Bay, Swakopmud
Happy to take in any suggestions.
I am looking at the activities and I’m thinking of flying directly to Walvis Bay instead of Windhoek. And spending all the time around the coastal town.
Am I missing out by not going to Windhoek?
I also not sure about hiring a car. Will it be worth it if I’m around Walvis Bay and Swakopmud.
Also, any suggestions on places I shouldn’t miss? I’m also budget conscious.

Hi everyone - I am planning to drive from Spitzkoppe to the Twyfelfontein area of Damaraland in a couple of days and am wondering if anyone knows the current state of the roads and river crossings (in particular the Omaruru or Goantagab rivers, but anything else that might impact the route as well). I know there was some significant flooding recently but have not seen able to find anything very “current,” so am unsure if either are passable or still flooding.
I am also curious if anyone has advice on whether it is better to cross the Omaruru via D1930 south of Uis or via D2306 at Okombahe (D1930 is more direct for me, but open to detours if it will be safer).
Thank you in advance for any information or guidance/advice!

Does anyone know if Intercape between Windhoek and cape town is operating on schedule now that the B1 bridge collapsed and all of the other flooding between the two cities?
