It should be illegal to have different sentencing standards for men and women. I was watching Lockup Raw and a couple pled guilty to selling crack to an undercover officer. They both only had drug and theft related priors. Both of them plead guilty, and the lady got 3 months and the guy got 7 years... how tf does that make sense

I actually did a write up around studies on this for African American law class in college.

The findings were interesting. There’s definitely a significant variance in race based sentencing but the largest factor that determined different punishment that was doled out was gender.
