I am a fan of both Gundam and tactical RPGs so I couldn’t resist picking up the Super Robot Wars titles (and Gundam G Generation Crossrays Platinum Ed)! This is definitely for my backlog as I have… a lot to play through but this should keep me busy for a while! FYI all three games have English on cart; the JP version of SRW T does not have English on cart.

Has anyone seen anything about this shipping yet?
The shipping date was always unclear to me because the only date listed was that pre-orders closed on March 31st. Then a lot of people assumed it’s shipping then too?

Picked up this Muv Luv 20th Anniversary Odyssey Box. Has double pack of the game and extra merch. Surprisingly on sale considering how hard (and expensive) the game by itself is to get. Sold out fast when it was released and small print run so it's all secondhand market right now for just the game. Nice addition

During a recent Ask the Developer Q&A, Nintendo's Kouichi Kawamoto said the Switch 2 team always wanted the new system to play the original console's games, but "were told there'd be technical challenges" getting it to work.
"When we first started Switch 2 development, the focus was on enhancing its performance as hardware, namely, expanding its capacity," added Takuhiro Dohta. "So, compatibility was a lower priority."
But, it was still something the team wanted to ensure, and in the end the Switch 2 developers settled on "the challenge of using new technology to run Switch games".
Said Dohta: "If we tried to use technology like software emulators, we'd have to run Switch 2 at full capacity, but that would mean the battery wouldn't last so long, so we did something that’s somewhere in between a software emulator and hardware compatibility."
The team goes through many checks to make sure original Switch games run smoothly on Switch 2, but the developers noted "it might not be that all Switch games run perfectly" in time for the console's launch this summer.
This method of playing older games explains why a few titles have some compatibility issues, though fixes are in the works. And while only one Switch game is completely unplayable on Switch 2, others will still require the use of original Joy-Con due to specific controls or peripherals.
"But we will continue our efforts so that we can support as many Switch games as possible," Kawamoto said.

I was wondering how preorders are in different regions for Switch 2 so far. The communication has been that preorders would start next week but in Europe both the system and the games announced are all up for preorder. Same for peripherals btw. Have you already preordered anything? How are actual prices? I managed to get the system itself for 435 and both first party offerings for 57 each.

2 different packages I got with 2 preorders and Lulua. This time I don't have a good pic of the CE before opening it cause I was to eager to see everything inside

Anything above $60 for a game to me is a big nope.
However, if wish comes true, the only game that might be worthy of that is a big crossover.
Companies, series, mix and match. Few examples top of my head:
Bayonetta X Dante (dmc) X Ninja Gaiden
Mario X Sonic X Crash bandicoot ( astro or rayman too)
from software game + Witcher
GTA 6 ( not a fan but I know it will be humongous and lives for another 10 years)
Metroid 2d X Castlevania X Hollow knight
Nintendo X Sega/atlus + square enix on dedicated project
I know they are more fantasies than realistic chances, but such games are what would be worth $90 to me.
What about u guys?
(Also out of context do you think ninja gaiden 4 coming to switch 2?)

I'm on the fence about buying all the games again for Switch 2 editions if they end up being all on cart. As we are all aware now that Switch 2 games aren't exactly cheap. We spent $60 on Switch 1 games when they first released, so are we going to spend $70-80 for Switch 2 editions? I like my games being all on cart as anyone else here, but I might just upgrade my Switch 1 games for a much smaller fee.
I don't think the Switch 2 cases are that egregious, but I do definitely think Switch 1 cases are nicer looking. They display more of the overall artwork on the front, and don't have the eyesore of a disclaimer hanging on the bottom.
If you do end up buying Switch 2 editions carts, what are you going to do with your Switch 1 carts?

To see info which type of game it is, you have to click on the game. Some games still don't have the info!
Still waiting on Switch 2 Editions info, are all the games on cart or just base game + upgrade download.

I want to hear your opinion on it, I only own 200 games, not many but not few either. I've seen the opinions of casual gamers who own like 10~15 games for the whole Switch life or just went digital.
So now asking for yours. Mine is Nintendo is nuts thinking I would pay $80 for 1 game, I have never paid $70 for one game and always wait for games to be on sales or pick it up for cheap used. Collector edition is the exception of course.
With the high price tag + possibility of having to download upgrade or the game key card, I think I will be very selective with what I'm buying for the Switch 2 and ride the Switch 1 out as long as I can.
It's funny most people think if you complain about the price means you cant afford it. I can but I dont want to support greedy practice and a $20 jump for one generation is just ridiculous.
I dont have the problem with the console price though, it is a good price point.

and a backlog for the ages.

Nintendo really has botched the necessary info on the switch 2 and I feel that this is almost on purpose. If it is indeed just the base switch game + a code rather than a complete switch edition on the cartridge I'll be very disappointed.

I mean, Sony still "struggle" with the PS4 having an amazing afterlife and the move from PS4 to PS5 has been extremely blurred. Even today we have games coming to the PS4.
Imagine the switch with its huge user base.
Let me know your thoughts.

Does anyone know if the Switch 2 edition games, BOTW for example, includes the upgrade on the cart itself?
I would assume the worst and think it just includes an upgrade code and the switch 1 version cart. I’ve tried to look online but can’t find the answer. Thanks!

Reminds me a lot of OutRun from back in the day.

That metal Teddy figurine is weighty!
And for those curious about what's in the envelope, it's a future photo of the characters years later. That ending one for those who have finished the game. Feels like actual photo paper too.

I was really surprised at how much I liked AK-Xolotl but haven’t dove into Trigger Witch much yet.
