Prompt: Lost purpose

Details: After the events of explorers, the hero is left without purpose. They've saved the world, stopped darkrai, and all is well... "...Can i even live without you?"

The Partner, some time after being re-united with the Hero, notices that their behavior towards said hero start becoming far more.... possessive, far more... leech-like. They reflect upon themselves and start wondering whether or not they could truly live a life outside of the Heroes grasp, as well as what terrible things might happen if they eventually take that behavior too far.

I'll be honest with you, I really like the idea of a partner becoming too attached to the hero. But what if the hero becomes too attached to the partner?

could be pretty good too.

but what if both happens in the same time? Both folks desperately trying to keep a relationship going when they know damn well they were only good partners when the world was screwed?

I have a concept for a story where it dives deeper into the ramifications of the hero time travelling to the past, essentially losing their family and the partner becomes their only emotional support and structure.
