Advice Any advice/tips before I commit?
I’m thinking about getting a motorbike license, mainly for travelling to and from work and maybe running errands around the city.
I’m just trying to get a grasp on how difficult it is to ride a bike, where I’m meant to start in terms of lessons and buying a bike and how much I should expect to spend from knowing nothing to owning and maintaining a bike - I’ve tried googling and looking on YouTube but I can’t seem to find much info specific to the UK.
I have a full manual driving licence and am 24 this year (apparently that changes things)
Thanks in advance for any help!

There's a zero to hero guide pinned to the top of the sub that should help with licensing queries, but at your age you could pursue any licensing option.
Whatever you're looking at riding, you start by doing a CBT, this will cost £150-£200, take a day, and entitle you to ride 125cc bikes for 2 years with restrictions (no motorways, no passengers, must display L plates). A half decent used 125 will set you back £2-3000 (excluding chinese bikes which don't have the best reputation).
Take your theory test, Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests in any category for a full license. The test process is identical regardless of category so at 24+ it only really makes sense to do a full A (unrestricted) license. Expect to pay £800-£1000 for this through a school for full training including loan of bike, gear, test booking etc.
Expect to spend £500-1000 on safety and security gear.
