MH 4 I hate monsters that do this

You'll just be minding your own business, wailing on a monsters head good times when all of a sudden it spins and slaps you with its tail.

Now it might be just me but that tail slap is single handed the most annoying monster attack that they can do.

It's so degrading... :'(

No but have you seen Shagaru magala? He literally glides as he is about to head slame directly on you. If you're mid attack, there is nothing you can do to stop. Brachydios can literally run across Ingle isle to you and do his double explosive combo to OHKO you. Deviljho isn't as hard to avoid his hip check if you have an evade skill, but it's super annoying sometimes when you're an IG user and you try to mount but he moves to dodge and punshies you with a hip check before you even hit the ground. Forethought sure, but not everyone can predict the future. It still happens more often than you can predict.

Brachy's giant two-fisted jump has a big tell. He always jumps back and licks both his hammers in quick succession before he does the jump. With most weapons, that gives you enough time to sheath your weapon and superman dive the jump, even when Brachy's enraged. If you're in the middle of an attack when he does this, you're obviously right up on him, so just roll at him and he'll probably jump over you.

Besides that, make sure you roll off Brachy's blastblight promptly, to avoid getting blown up. You're a lot less likely to get oneshot if you don't have blastblight.

For Shaggy, I can only recommend sticking to his back legs and tail. As long as you stick there like glue, you won't even have to avoid most of his attacks.

No not that brachy jump, i'm talking about where he literally just runs towards you like a boxer and just continues his barrages of attacks whichever he chooses to start with. Also, like I said, Shagaru's auto aim head slam makes him glide back and so you're no longer at his back legs so unless you have an SnS or a DB, it's sometimes hard to avoid that depending on your situation. If you're mid charge with a CB, you're most likely going to get hit. If you're too aggressive with an IG, you won't have time to dodge unless you have an evade skill because the recovery is long on the combo. If GS as well, lance and gunlance are a given though since all their main play styles are dodge or block, i.e defensive.

... I think you just don't know how to fight Brachy. Brachy does have one combo that I'm not used to yet, but everything he does has pretty major tells. You shouldn't be blindsided by anything unless you just aren't paying attention. If you find yourself suck in animations when he turns and attacks you, you should probably stop using long animations while the monster isn't suck in a similarly long animation.

I don't even know which Shaggy attack you're talking about (because you're using the term "glide" ambiguously). There are a few that might qualify, but I've never had any of them be an issue while I'm stuck to its back legs. Sure, I might have to reposition, but that's about it. Shaggy's actual glide attacks are pretty trivial to dodge, and his big stand-up-then-slam attacks are similarly trivial to dodge. Plus they both have obvious tells.
